@@1974gladiateur Hybrid rav4 rear wheel is driven by separate electric motor it has no shaft to the rear wheels, so it behaves as it wants. Different story is the awd on regular gasoline engine it works much more predictable and has an option to lock 50/50 if wheels are straight

@@ingusasarits6389 There's a TSB from Toyota that might help in slippery situations: CP-00152T-TME eAWD - Reduced take off performance on slippery surface. From what I understand the brakes on the free rolling wheels will be applied to transfer torque to the wheels that still have traction

if you want a proper off road car you buy different model not rav4. awd in rav4 is made for roads and it works great.

Toyota should give you back the extra money for the awd option....that awd is HIDEOUS. I really thought at some points the car was the fwd version

nobody really go to such a off road with rav4. if you want a proper off road car you buy different model not rav4. awd in rav4 is made for roads and it works great.

@@pete7433 still. That's snow, and not a lot of it, you could find that much in an unplowed road or in a storm. And only the front spins and it struggles setting off ...you can definitely tell the awd is not working well enough

@@ИгорьПотапов-ц2ф, в гибриде нет муфты, там отдельный электро мотор крутит задние колёса... В видео у них вообще передний привод, нет щилдика что полный привод у машины....

Hybrid has a very weak awd system. Back wheels are only powered by electric motors and not very responsively or efficiently. I chose normal petrol engine as unlike hybrid it has center locking and all the power can be sent to all 4 wheels at the same time. No such option in hybrid unfortunately. Check tests both hybrid and non hybrid models on rollers.

Hybrids are designed to cut power when encountering slippage which is counter productive making AWD hybrids essentially useless. You wouldnt have these issues with a gas powered Rav4.

My rav 2015 AWB works better than this one, could be because I used the 50/50 as fixed at the very beggining

of course it works better because it's either diesel or gasoline.. And they have a cardan shaft. In hybrids, the rear end is driven by an electric motor, and a really unfortunate one... The newer ones already have slightly larger electric motors in the back :)
