This is the pre-facelift Corolla. The facelifted version of the 2-litre version has 197PS. The facelifted 1.8-litre version makes 140PS. Same one used in the Corolla Cross that we Brits are currently denied access to, but other European countries get it. Also, I am very gutted that we won’t get the GR Corolla here in Europe. If I could wave a wand and bring any new cars to Europe, the GR Corolla is one car that would be on my wishlist. Please note that the GR Corolla is joining the GR Yaris, GR86 and GR Supra in some countries like Australia and Japan.

With this being quite a recent video. I think you should have reviewed the 2023 model. Due to its significant improvements, especially with regards to the 1.8L model

The Corolla hatch was my back up choice when I was car shopping last year, I went C-HR GR Sport instead as it suited my requirements better. The 2 litre hybrid power unit is very good as its a timing chain engine plus has D-4S direct & port fuel injection so no worries of carbon fouling of the intake valves. I agree on the GR front seats, extremely comfortable & supportive.
