This system developed by TOYOTA is truly outstanding!!! SYNERGY - to describe it with only one word. We have the best traits of gasoline car and the best values of the EV car. Perfection!

Toyota The First Manufacturer To Create Hybrid And Plug In Hybrid Cars The King Of All Hybrid Cars
@Prepare2Survive9 күн бұрын
Please make one that has "plug out" capability that would act as an emergency home electric power supply in case home power is lost during a storm. It doesn't need to power everything in the house. Just enough to keep the refrigerator / freezer running and the heating furnace running in the winter. You could also market this "plug out" car as having the ability to supply power while doing outdoor activities like camping or even minor work site tasks to power some tools. I'm sure having this "plug out" ability would make the most sense in a pickup truck, but I would also like to see it offered in smaller cars too because not everyone needs or wants a large vehicle.

I have a 2017 Prius Prime 80k miles. No repairs, works perfectly. Best of both worlds, full EV for daily use. No range anxiety or charging delays on long trips. About 75% of my miles are EV. 55mpg in hybrid. After 7 years I have seen the EV range drop from 30 miles to about 22 miles, still more than my typical daily usage. Charges in 6 hours on 120v so no special circuit or charger needed. Promramed the charge time for off peak hours. Would buy another if/when this one wears out. I think Toyota did a brilliant job with this technology.

My wife bought a 2017 Prius Prime last fall at 82K miles and it's now at 95K miles. It's been a great car! Her round trip commute is 85 miles, so the battery only gets her about a quarter of the way in electric only, but it's quite efficient using gasoline. She went from 25 MPG in a 2007 Mazda5 to 65 MPG in the Prius Prime. With regular maintenance, I expect it to last at least as long as our other Toyotas and we'll beyond the 230K that the Mazda lasted. I love that the oil filter for the 2ZR-FXE in the 2017 Prius Prime is the same as for the 2ZR-FE in my 2009 Pontiac Vibe (rebadged Matrix)!

I have a 2022 Rav4 Prime and I love it. I charge at home and work. Rarely use gas. The vehicle was expensive to purchase but the gas savings will make up the difference over the course of several years. Especially since i was driving a large truck before hand.

Interesting. This resolves the issue of wanting more power with the turbocharged ICE. Recently we purchased a Corolla SE AWD hybrid which admittedly is no power house, but it is super smooth and efficient (45 MPG typical). We sold an Audi A3 Quattro which was much more powerful, but where to use that power? Just one place given today's traffic and speeds, the freeway on ramp. Our Corolla is a driver's momentum car, the SE package and AWD make it the equal of the Audi as far as handling. So we gave up acceleration performance for a 30% improvement in efficiency, a very good trade for us. We like the car a lot! I wonder how this more performance oriented package will compare?

So if you can charge the car you never need to use gas but if you cant charge it you can run it like a normal car? That's awesome!

We had our 2024 Prime for three months before we ever put gas in it. And, only then because we had to make a 300Km highway trip. Makes for a low operational cost for us.

Let me get this straight. The main difference between the normal hybrid and the Plug-in Hybrid is the presence of a plug for charging the battery from the mains. Correct?

@@dorinvesa1109 not... it only uses all electric if you charge it with a cord. Otherwise it operates like a hybrid where the electric motors take over in low speed or low strain circumstances. The EV part only uses electric if there is sufficient charge on the batteries.

Toyota if you do build a unibody truck, name it under the Rav4 or The corolla. If you name it under the stout, it would kill sales of either the Rav4, or Corolla. It need a catchy name like Chevy El camino. corolla Stout?, or Rav4 stout pickup
