I like that you give some crucial build information... cheers

That double stack air cleaner is definitely old school. Haven’t done it since. 89 when I sold my last car with a carb.

I love this. Back in the 80s and 90s I was putting 5.0 and then 4.6 engines in Pintos, Mustang 2's and the Fairmont.

From Leo: Nice quick car, but pretty hard to say it is a sleeper with all the advertising in the back windows and a high rise manifold and double air cleaners making it impossible to run with a hood on. Even black wall tires and dog dish hubcaps would not make it a "sleeper" . I had a 68 Biscayne sedan with rusty fenders, stock ride height and a headliner hanging loose. Stock hub caps. No modification was visible, tach was in the glove compartment. Built big block, built turbo 400 and a posi rear and a very quiet hidden 3 inch exhaust. Seldom washed it, never waxed. That was a sleeper.

I have a 1972 Pinto woodgrain wagon with a 289/4 speed out of a 1967 Falcon. It is not a race car, just a daily driver/cruiser. Still has stock size 13" tires front and rear, on the original optional Appliance 5 slot aluminum 4 lug wheels.

That's a bad ass car, I'd own it

I'm puzzled with it having a 9" rear and 4 lug wheels.

My guess is that he's running an 8.8 inch out of a 4 lug Fox Mustang. It could also be a built 8"....but probably not.

I had a 74 back in 77 my dad and I dropped a 289 high performance in .we left the stock rear in. 4 lug had 60s on the back skinny on the front with keystone rims. It was a sleeper. The stock rear end dropped it down to around a 411 it would spin through all3 gears. Car would fly.it was very fast

It's a 1956 9 inch out of a ford wagon. Small bearing. With Ford 8 inch 28 spline axles. Backing plates. Brakes. out of a mustang II. Rear end housing bolts right in to stock locations. Bigger U bolts required

Be very aware when a car that appears slow asks you to race.

I wouldn't call it a sleeper with slicks and the air cleaner sticking 1/2 way up the windshield.
@caseym31184 жыл бұрын
My definition of a sleeper is a fast car that appears slow . Pinto with a v8 doesn’t match that . Pinto with a 4banger like a early 2.3 that does . It better be quick with a v8. Good cheap bracket car though and I can appreciate that . Needs lower gears ⚙️ 4.56s and it would drop close to half a second 👍

must be a sleeper you lost have a 77 pinto crusin wagon with 347 runs just as good and son has a 71 runs 9.90's and yes a good driver he is not taking that away but as far as SLEEPR GOES NO

Guess you didn't see his win light come on? Bracket racing.

Nothing about this car says "sleeper".

Unless to far from track, shouldn't have to load up a 12 second car.
@entropy1564 жыл бұрын
If you can, why wouldn't you? Things break sometimes, as it turns out, and AAA doesn't like towing race cars back from tracks...
@brucecarney44164 жыл бұрын
no hood big air cleaner sticking a foot up in the windsheild and a few dozen speed equip decals do not a "SLEEPER" MAKE! Give me an appliance white grelin with a 401 and dog dish hubcaps. ZZZZZZZZZZ!
