Glad no one was hurt. I hope insurance makes them whole! Years ago I owned a service station (gas and repair). One day a woman was driving by and upon seeing smoke from under the hood of her car she promptly pulled into my station stopping her car by the pumps😮😮!! Thankfully one of my employees saw what was unfolding and along with the smoke he spotted orange flames under the hood. He grabbed a fire extinguisher and put it out before the whole neighborhood went up in flames. Like the person who parked the smoldering tractor the woman driving the car didn’t have sense enough to minimize the damage potential… Another great video from Tim and Kristy!

Even though equipment can be replaced and buildings can be repaired it's still an experience no one wants to go thru. Earlier this week I was getting close to home when I noticed my engine light was on. I left it in the middle of the driveway while I looked it over, read the owners manual, and talked to the dealer. Your sign story reminded me of an event from my childhood. My Dad was showing off his first ever brand new riding mower to his brother. My uncle let the clutch out and rode the mower straight up a creeper leaned up against the work bench in the garage. Only his pride was hurt.

Off the subject again but maybe a good time of year to discuss this. My 2021 1023 @ 120R NSL loader was due for it's 200hr service. I'm recovering from surgery on my arm and no way was I going to be able to attempt the service myself this year. So I took it to my dealership. Cost me an unbelievable amount of money. But there was a positive outcome. The service included an "inspection" where the tech discovered what they called the "loader pin" was worn. This is the 3' long silver color pipe looking device out in front of the lift arms of the loader. He said that it is a common problem that they wear on the ends where they fasten to the loader arms. So I found this "inspection" to be a very valuable service as there was no sign of any problem operating the loader so I would have never thought to check it. So if you haven't already, I wonder if you would please make a video discussing "inspections" for us new subcompact tractor owners. Spring is right around the corner here in NE Ohio and we'll be putting em to work soon! Thanks

Tim, in my past experience, adding mulch to beds that are already full of mulch tends to lead to the ground level being higher than the foundation which causes water issues. I've done mold remediation on many buildings with the ground level higher than the foundation because of mulch beds and when it rained it held moisture against the wall leading to water getting inside the walls. I'd hate for them to have mold issues. Just a thought. I do like that 3 series. Very nice tractor. God bless!

Hi Tim, In your videos it seems like the 2038r has more whine from the hydrostatic transmission than the 3r. Do you find the 3r to be quieter than the 1 and 2 series tractors in that regard in person too? Sorry to see all that equipment burned up at the church. Hopefully with the insurance they can budget for some replacements. Looked like mostly green was in the barn, surely that doesn't mean that the big guy drives a Kubota?
@adambergold4900 Жыл бұрын
I believe it’s always good idea to let all equipment cool down before putting it in a building. I’ve seen birds make a nest on the exhaust manifold which if not spotted early can catch fire after running the tractor for a while. It doesn’t take much sometimes

mower deck looks good for the tractor. check the gear box oil. that church should only get new mulch every 5-8 years, all that needs to be done is turn it over every year and hit it with a back pack sprayer with new dye. walmart has a battery powered backpack sprayer under the HART brand that would work very well for that. 1 person could do it all in a week end or get two and make it easier. can't recall the price but it's $1XX something lawncarenut alyn hane has a video about redying, so does Pete GCI turf services and some others.

You should tell them to take off the old mulch around the trees first before adding the new, if you don't do that you will eventually kill the tree. I would also get rid of the excess mulch around the building, it should not come up to or cover the brick but be about 8" below where the brick starts on the foundation wall.
@FM60260 Жыл бұрын
I don't understand why a tractor was put back in the garage while it was smoking. I leave everything out to cool to the point where the exhaust is cool enough to touch after they have been running in case something falls on them like a cloth or piece of wood and comes in to contact with a hot component, if it starts smoking I would try and move it somewhere safe (away from anything that could burn) and shut it down.

Having gone through a house fire myself my prayers go out to these folks. Hopefully they have replacement cost coverage on their policy. If so, it will pay the depreciated amount then once they purchase a new like model they get the rest. So hopefully they will get a new tractor out of it. Still a tedious process but God is good and things will work out the way they are supposed to.
