T&H Inspiration is on a mission to share inspiring wisdom. The goal is to have you pause, think, and reflect. Many of our videos revolve around the extraordinary teachings of Alan Watts that we produce with permission from the Alan Watts Electronic University.
T&H also films and releases original interviews with iconic people who have experienced successes, while also persevering through life's highs and lows. We look forward to sharing more of these perspectives and insights.
Our hope with these videos is to push your thinking. As Alan Watts said “No one is more dangerously insane than one who is sane all the time: he is like a steel bridge without flexibility, and the order of his life is rigid and brittle.” - Alan Watts.

@@mateoreyes4235 Good question! I think Lao tzu's original comment was a somewhat generalized and simplistic overview of things - so true in a sense, but not necessarily so technically speaking. He appears to be referring more to the person's immediate state of mind more than anything else. But of course, there's the physical body to take into account also, with its more ingrained energy patterns. So you're right - a depressed person could be anxious at any given moment, and perhaps even the other way round as well.

Alan Watts words are the gateway to freedom. It was once he made me realize that I wasn't my name, my ideas or the abstraction/symbolism that occurs in the mind, I started questioning the very language I spoke with in my head. It's all nonsense 😂 none of it means anything 🤣 yet there I was trying and trying to "get my mind back". Control control obsessive control. @@ivanrowe2880 I have not thought about an equation that represents Spirit, per se. That would require a subjective conclusion. I make no conclusions. My research provides implication in equation form, in some examples. The mind must be capable to recognize these implications. "Spiritual growth is cognitive growth." m.scott peck, The Road Less Traveled. Meaningful? How would you formulate this in an equation? An equation meaningful to me, and mindboggling if one cannot apprehend Spirit: 2c + 191.5349 = X X is my daughter's birthtime relative to a full year, relative to my birthtime. When we met, I lived at 915 and my wife lived at 5349. If you draw a circle at each location that intercepts 1.915349 km, you will define the location where Floyd died. We lived in Minneapolis when we met. On March 18, the anniversary of our first meeting, is 23.44 years after we bought our current home. 2c = 44(hexadecimal). This is our 44th year together. I noticed an immediate resistance inside when Alan said "We are used to seeing things from a perspective of Subject and Object, this meaning that when there is a verb in a sentence, there also needs to be a Subject, there needs to be the one who is perceiving it" and I immediately thought: How could that ever be possible? But it hit me... What if there is really no subject? Our need to have a "subject" stems from our ego mind, our conditioning that has taught us that we are separate from the outter world. Our ego mind wanting to separate itself from oneness, but if we really look into it, everything is interconnected. Like the cells in our body. Every cell is different, but a single cell wouldn't make sense if you don't embed it in the context of a body. And God/the universe is to us, like a body is to a single cell.

I recently had an illness that put a lot of things I assumed were important into perspective, and now I could do with a large dose of peace! I'd like to die before I die and be reborn as myself rather than the character I'm currently playing, it's slow going but I believe I'm on the right road for a change.

Who were you before you given a name? Before conception. You lived through your parents, and your parents through there's. And they got the nutrients to give life to your physical body through the foods they ate and water they drank. The air they breathed. The space we occupy needed to exist in order for our physical form to exist. We are All. We are Everything. Keep on finding the silence and you will feel the truth 🤟

This is one of those discussions that on one level sound, sounds brilliantly wise and in tune with a greater understanding. On another level, what it appears to be, is addressing the reality of one layer of beingness....while another layer is not being accounted for...and then that this is taken as the totality of what's going on. "It's just an idea" as a summation of what is going on doesn't cut it. It's like Alan Watts wanted to boil it down and say that everything that is quiet, simple, and in there here and now - that's reality. But anything more noisy and complicated, like language and words and so on, is not. One layer is reality. One layer is not. No. Both are. We, as individual selves, separated beings, identities, whatever you want to call the functioning components of our experiences over time.....have choice. We always have choice. You may not be able to choose how your irises and retinas process incoming light. But you CAN choose to close your eyes. Now, if Watts is saying that even the choice that you do have available to you is not really you and is merely part of a greater mechanism, I would fundamentally have to disagree on that because of the consequences that pertain to choice, and the responsibility in that. We are not just all the interconnected everything. We are not just the separated materialistic body. We are both. We are, in consciousness, the "bridge" between one and the other, which includes and encompasses both. That....is the reality. With that, comes choice, responsibility, and a whole lot more. I think Watts' take here is good for people who are unaware of, or refuse to acknowledge, the silent interconnectedness in all things. Without that, you really are running under the delusion that such a thing doesn't exist, and you will be (un)pleasantly surprised with that point of view when you die.
