Great video, I often over trade. Decided to place extra emphasis on Risk reward. Gonna use it as a final filter. I don't know why I keep getting into situations I don't feel comfortable about and where the risk to reward isn't attractive.

@Trading212 - Do you think its a good idea to exit a trade when I feel the trade is not going the way I want or wait till the SL gets hit hoping it would reverse almost near the SL level?

In my very humble opinion (I in no way claim to have the experience of Trading212 et al) that comes down to trust in your methodology. If you trust your system and stop placement and its within your risk reward assessment then leave it. Once you have placed faith in your system I would say don't second guess yourself, you might just as easily stop yourself out and regret it.

Hi. You always say we should put 1 - 3% of our account balance on any trade, so I wanted to ask without using a calculator how can we get that option on Trading 212? I tried to ask on the chat without success. Please advise. Thank you

Hi Siseko, you can use the margin and swap (when trading Forex & CFDs) / commission (when trading Equities) details section to calculate the respective figures for a position / deal, prior to opening it.

So for example, we have a 240£ account and we want to risk only 2% per trade which equals to 4.8£ of maximum loss per trade, using a 0.02 position size. Now, do these 4.8£ equal to 240 pips ? And here's why : 240x0.02 = 4.8£(max loss), then 4.8£/0.02(position size) = 240 pips, so does this mean that we can risk a maximum of 240 pips per trade ? I don't think that calculation is right, so if anyone can explain using these or other numbers, it would be highly appreciated. Thanks.

Hi, let me go through an example to see if it helps, based off Trading 212 trading units. You have a $1,000 account. You only want to risk 2% - so $20. You decide to set your stop loss e.g. 20 points away. So your risk has to be only $1 per point. If you trade 10,000 units of EUR/USD then that is $1 per point exposure. If you trades 5,000 units then that is 50c per point exposure. SO, in this example you would trade 10,000 units. If your stop loss was 40 points away, then for the same financial risk of $20, you would need to halve your size, and trade only 5,000 units. Hope this helps.
