I have always prepared my turkey to similar to the way you do but I stuff my turkey with cornbread dressing. I am 85 and that is the way I have done it for all my married life. My grandmother did it the same way. It has always been a hit with my family.

Thank you for doing this - I am going to make my Turkey just like this on Thanksgiving - but, I may cheat and put in a little stuffing in that cavity - I live in New England and that’s how my family has been doing it for generations - we don’t do dressing even when we cook it outside the bird. Anyway, loved the video - you’re such nice people. HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE 🦃🦃🦃

Karen, I do the same thing as you when preparing a turkey, but I recently ( last Christmas) roasted a turkey breast with putting bacon over the top let’s say a half an hour before it was ready. My goodness was it ever delicious! That’s a traditional way in U.K.

I always wash my turkeys too. They’re saying not to wash your chicken or turkey now. Not sure who come up with that but I’ll continue to wash mine. I’m really not a turkey or chicken fan ( I’m a pork girl) but I enjoy the turkey on Thanksgiving. Then I send leftovers home with my son to make turkey salad. I’m so ready for Thanksgiving. I’ll start cooking tomorrow (Sunday) for it. Thank you for showing us how NOT TO have a tasteless turkey. Just in case I don’t see you again before Thanksgiving I wish you and your amazing family a wonderful day. Love ya sweet friend. ❤❤ I have a quick tip. Put a damp dish towel down then sit your pan on it. It helps to keep it from sliding around. Works for cutting boards too.

I'm a pork girl too. I will have ham also. I made several of my side dishes and out in the freezer ahead of my surgery. Now, the girls will do the rest. I love Thanksgiving food. I pray your family has the happiest and tastiest day ever. Love to you and family ❤️❤️❤️

The recommendation is to not wash poultry because you tend to spread harmful bacteria in the process of rinsing off the product.. It’s better to pat the meat dry with paper towels.

Thanksgiving dinner is my favorite of the year. Did you make your gravy using the broth you poured under your turkey? I'm sure it collected all the drippings from your turkey to make an even more flavorful liquid...
