Traditional Mangalorean Style Sardine Fry | Tarli Fish Fry - Seafood
Not everyone likes the taste of this tarli/ sardine, mathi, due to its strong fishy smell. But when it comes to nutrition, the sardine surpasses them in every respect. With its dense flesh and bold flavour, sardine is a treasure house of nutritional wealth.
This fish is a little tedious to clean, and requires a lot of effort. However, the taste is definitely worth the effort. If you manage to get the fish cut and cleaned from the fish vendor then it is very easy to prepare this dish. You can make a spicy curry (ambot teek, shirko shindap) or fry it either way it tastes great.
