I really appreciate it that the owner let us take this video in his wonderful restaurant. I'll definitely tell him about your feedback on this video so please write what you think about him. I think he was so cute! Also I'd be happy if you share the video on other SNS too!

Im writing this comment long after this video was posted. Hitoki-San, I keep returning to these videos of yours for three reasons: 1. Your upbeat attitude, seeming as if you enjoy making these videos 2. Subtitles written out (in japanese) 3. Understanding your audience as a language instructor through use of effective, but simple words. My language learning has improved greatly because your content is enjoyable, while still being extremely informative. Thank you for all your hard work.

He seems like such a sweet man, it’s so special to still find these neighbourhood treasures, especially when there are so many franchises and chains that don’t have this cozy environment. It looks like a special place, I’d love to go one day. Thanks for another video!

He is so sweet!! And the food looks amazing. The part where both of you were fretting over the bill and being so polite had me laughing out loud. I will definitely go there when I go to Japan!

優しすぎる、泣くそう! He was so kind, it brought tears to my eyes. If it happened to me, I'm sure I would be bawling my eyes out... Thank you for the video and for showing us such a great shop owner!
Watching videos about Japan and Japanese people really makes me want to learn more about the language so I can communicate with Japanese people. I love how polite Japanese people are and very kind. Thank you 🤍

10/10 video! The owner seems like a super nice person and really enjoys what he does. I think you should add the address of the shop to the description so we can visit the shop. I want to go check it out when I am ever in Japan.

Oh yeah, I'm gonna put the address there! Thank you for your comment too!

A good example of why I appreciate your videos so much. They are very positive, sensitive and respectful. The owner's kindness to his guests, as well as your kindness to the owner and the food he has prepared. It's something specifically Japanese (a very nice cultural feature to my mind), but in your videos, you really embody this kindness in a very special and authentic way. After watching this, one would hug you both right away ^^ I wish we would see that more often here in Europe.

I once read an article about bowing in Japan, and how sometimes Japanese people will go back and forth, not letting the other person bow last. It was very charming to see a real life example! :)

uwaa i'm really a fan of shave ice uncle. this really made me nostalgic for shave ice in hawaii. the shave ice shops used to be like this one, very casual and full of 寂. now, there are many new and fancy places to cater to tourists. but i hope visitors can also appreciate hawaii's "real local" businesses, and help keep them alive.

I've been under the weather for a few days and I'm just barely getting my appetite back. Seeing the waffle with red beans and ice cream has made me SO hungry. Sadly, it's nearly midnight here and I couldn't find something even remotely similar even if I tried. This is a great video. Hell, the whole channel is great. One of my favorites and I'm not even a speaker or student of the Japanese language (though I am an interpreter and linguist).

In Costa Rica we called it "copos" or "granizados" and it's made with shaved ice, powdered milk, kola syrup and condensed milk. Sometimes are sold with ice creams or other toppings. And in some places are sold as a dessert on restaurant, but they are usually sold on the street, and the people who sell them carry a cart everywhere.

Am I late? Am I late?! It’s 2021! Ahhhg! Even he says he’s doing a gentleman gesture because of their ladies customer, I bet not! He really is a kind and a gentle person! The aura is shouting! But I really enjoyed this kind of video! I wanted to tryyy a loooot of different things here in japan but always hesitant that I might be doing wrong! I wanted to talk to them, ask a lot but my introvert personality cannot! That’s why I AM THANKING YOOUUU SOOO MUCH FOR DOING THIS KIND OF VIDEO!!! 🥰🥰🥰

A video like this is the perfect escapism during this time where we are not allowed to travel. With the soft music, the beautiful images, and the great explanations, I almost feel like I was there with you. And wow, the owner is so sweet!! Thank you so much for this wonderful video!! Oh and about the bamboo, I also think it creates a good atmosphere for all humans because it's such a natural material, and humans are at home in nature, among trees... :)

That was nice wholesome video, showing off some little known local cuisine and the owner was really nice. When he refused to let you pay that was both really cool and also hilarious to watch you try 😂 I really want to try one of his waffles - they looked amazing and I’m a little mad that I’m not there.

That was great! I really wish to visit Japan one day just to go to one of this kind of places ❤. We live very quickly, buy new things, throw the old ones. In a place like this you can feel the past and like you said- feel peaceful. Is this the wabi sabi feeling? Perfect imperfections 🙂
@Onomappu4 жыл бұрын
Exactly. I'm glad that I can share the wabi sabi with you and you seem to like it too! Thanks for commenting.

There's a local shaved ice place here that I love but they flavor the ice. itself by mixing flavors in before freezing it. They have about 15 or 16 flavors, plus different toppings. It's not a cool, classic place like this one, but it's delicious. You can see what the shaved ice looks like here: www.iceskimo.com/
