In today's video Trent Jr and Mark take the rotator to assist a lady who attempted to turn around in the dark and failed to navigate around some concrete slabs, therefore she high centered the trailer on these slabs and got stuck. This requires us to lift the trailer away and winch her out

Q:What camera do you use?
A: I use the Go Pro Hero 7 Black Edition primarily. Often times you will see auxillary cameras in use. Those cameras include The Go Pro Hero 6, Hero, and DJI Mavic Pro Platinum
Q: How big Is your rotator?
A: It is a 50 ton Miller Industries Vulcan 950
Q: Does the carriage slide back like Ron Pratt's?
A: No, the carriage doesn't slide back due to strict weight laws in California. The sliding carriage will make the truck to heavy in CA
Q: Why do you only have 3 winches on the rotator?
A: Comes down to weight again as stated above
Q: How many trucks Does Plaza Towing have?
A: Currently more than 30
Q: Why must the driveshaft be removed to tow a vehicle?
A: When vehicles are not running the transmission is not receiving circulating lubricant. If the driveshaft is left installed, the transmission, which is not receiving lubricant, is still spinning. This allows it to get very hot which eventually will cause major damage to the transmission. Therefore, removing the driveshaft completely eliminates the transmission from spinning. Simply leaving it in neutral is not sufficient since the transmission still spins in neutral.

Lucky for the truck the slabs were missed. I drove construction for years with trailers and straight trucks and always got a laugh at road drivers when off the blacktop. On the other hand always had respect the way they handled their trucks on the blacktop. Great video as always

Cummins ISX 605HP The rotator weighs in at 65,000 pounds. I have not had the pleasure to tow an oversize rig therefore the heaviest I have towed was 80,000 pounds putting us it at a total gross of 145,000. Those are always fun! Thank you for watching!

Trent, why didn't you set up closer to the fence? That way your swing with the trailer in the air would have been more along the centerline of the rotator rather than having to constantly boom out as it swung. Also -- is that a decal of some kind from Texas on your windshield? What's that all about?
@plazatowing
@plazatowing 4 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately the camera doesn’t show it well but there’s an elevated dirt platform there that would require close to 2 feet of cribbing to allow for the truck to become completely level. Could it be done? Absolutely but it would probably take longer. Hopefully that answers your question! Thank you for watching!

Most modern truck drivers aren’t truck drivers at all, they’re steering wheel holders. This means when they go through CDL mills they never actually learn to backup. The number of trucks you will see at TA, Loves, Flying J etc who either park along a curb (when it says “No Parking”) or only use pull through spots is appalling.
