@velja19311 ай бұрын
Hey Martin, first of all, thank you and your brother for everything you do, you're helping me improve and get stronger every day. I have a question. I would like to start training MMA, but since I don't have time for it now (school), I'm currently training in the gym and I have made a whole performance based program thanks to your videos, but I struggle to make it perfect since, as we can see in this video, there are so many great exercises and I don't know which to choose. The program is currently based on the Upper/Lower split and a rest day after every workout day because I'm training with really high intensity. How do I choose the best exercises and should I change the exercise variations every session? (eg. today I do push-ups, next time I do bench press etc.)

@mthurnherr937211 ай бұрын
Dear Mr Martin I have a question about training your core. To what extent do we need core isometrics? I feel like on any other muscle we ignore isometric training, but for core it is prioritized. Do dynamic exercises not train the core? Like if I get good at sit-ups wont that strength also translate to stability as well? Or is it about total motor unit recruitment/teaching your body to be stable? And if we need to do both how to do you recommend to train both?

@Rankoreh Then stay the bodyweight you're at. You likely don't even have enough muscle on your frame, so I highly doubt you'll be able to reap any of the benefits from "maingaining." So, please, tell me this. Why are you asking, "Is there any way to get heavier?" When you want to stay at your natural weight class? These statements contradict each other. Either you put on muscle or fat to get heavier, or you don't.

they train freeweights and done refrain from the core being used as a stabilizer, they don’t isolate muscles, and for power they perform most of their reps in a explosive way

You have way too strong of an opinion on certain workouts. Machines are fantastic for athletes who have over trained/injured certain body parts. Using equipment for certain lifts helps individuals with limiting factors. You make it sound like people who use this stuff is beneath you and that completely drowns out the wonderful information you have.
