Years ago when I lived in Philadelphia I had the opportunity to ride with some of the teams of the time during a flat training ride. They let me sit in on the back of the group where I couldn’t do any damage. Great experience and memory.

Come to Montreal and Quebec City in the autumn for the two World Tour races-always good opportunities to ride with the pros, especially in Montreal. They stay downtown. If you’re respectful and competent, you can often latch on to a group doing a training recon, especially on Mont Royal.

strangely satisfying to watch. They were so uniform in their movements. How come you weren’t in among them at any point? Is it a safety thing, or bad etiquette? Or for the full view? the view was cool from behind.

yeah he got pretty sloppy with his line when he was out of the saddle, with his bike weaving around a lot. but while it looked like they were close to touching wheels, i think it just looks a lot closer than it really was. just perspective, i suppose. from the looks of it, there was about 6 inches between their wheels.
