I started my voice training recently. Lets say i am very motivated after my recent egg cracking. I practice about 1 to 2 hours a day because i have a lot of fun doing it. Your videos helped a lot to understand how to do this. I feel like i already made a good amount of progress in this short time. I experiment a lot and just try to feel how my voice sounds and what sounds i prefer for myself. Currently the lower female pitch range feel comfortable for myself. My voice was very insecure in this range at the beginning but already feels very stable after the short amount of training. It was scary in the beginning to think about not being able do it right. But i am so much more confident now. I think i am already getting closer every day. This will take a lot of work but seeing progress little by little feels amazing.

I definitely built up my larynx practices by working in a call center and using girl voice regularly on calls, for about four or five minutes, about 20 minutes every hour. And I wasn’t focusing too hard on my voice the whole time, because I was doing my job taking people’s info and asking questions to assist them. Real, practical conversation where you are doing actual exchanges of meaning with people is crucial. I teach for a living, and I try not to lecture much. But i have a maintenance voice I can keep up for hours on end, and it isn’t that high. It’s more androgynous, but it’s still enough. When I get angry on the phone, my voice does drop some. And the panic reaction the other person has tells me, yeah, change has happened.

One tip for strengthening larynx muscles and learning to raise it. WHISTLING! Learning to whistle (especially at higher ranges) uses the same muscles you have to train to raise and keep the larynx up. I didn't know this before even having my egg slightly crack, but I realized that since whistling has my main vocal stim since I was a kid basically, I've been unintentionally training my larynx muscles daily! plus whistling is just fun, try it out :3

I try to practice altering my resonance when I'm going for drives in the car. Also I try to mimic the google maps lady. Not my goal for the voice, but trying to have the higher timbre while maintaining vocal strength is important, and she shows me how much nasal resonance I can get away with.

I've always hated my voice PERIOD because of allergies (trees, grass, dust). 😭 So much congestion I'm constantly having to clear my throat and trying to do that effectively and effeminately is... difficult, though I think I'm getting sneezing down. lol At least glad I've always liked to sing to myself, even when my allergies are acting up, so I think that practice is really helping.

Funny that you mentioned singing because I’ve been trying to teach myself to feminize my singing voice and oof. While some of the generic voice feminization stuff translates well to singing some of it isn’t feasible to maintain through my entire range. And I’ve been struggling to find resources specifically for singing. It’s rough out here.

I watched a lot of videos and didn't progress and was just confused about all the information. I'll do some professional training with a speech therapist. Health insurance pays for it. Also, there is a danger of developing a voice disorder if you do some wrong things by DIY.

Hi! Thank you for your videos, it was immensely helpful! I'm just begining my transistion and to be faire, I didn't have the courage to do it because of my voice. I didn't wanted to become a woman with a manly voice. I have nothing against poeple doin it, it's me, I hate my voice I happend to have the same voice of someone I don't really respect or appreciate. So I would never transition without people like you, who shows us that IT IS possible to change our voice. Thank you! From the bottom of my heart

Dear Lucy, I am a 10 year old who desperately wants to come out to my parents, but I am very nervous, because I came out at my dad's house during the summer after building up my courage for years, just for him to tell me I'm too young and reject me by saying "even when you get old enough to be a (t slur), you'll never be a real woman." In case you are wondering, my parents divorced a year ago. Now I am living over at my moms house, and my dad never told her about what I said to him. I want her to know so bad, as she will be supportive and still love me, I am sure about that. But I can't build up the courage to come out. Right now, I am waiting for her to find out. btw this is a little burner account I made, because I don't want to post my real age on my main. So in summary, should I wait for her to find out or should I come out?
@fairyprincesslucy
@fairyprincesslucy 28 күн бұрын
So, I came out to my parents around age 12 and got similar "being too young" answers If these thoughts have been around for more than a few months than chances are you'll still feel this way as an adult later. I recommend talking to your mum about it. I hope it goes better than your dads response It's scary but I find when we keep it a secret, we then become "too old to transition' as adults. Cis people always come up with a reason to stop us from being ourselves If you feel ready, the best time to transition is when you can! You got this and just know, trans girls are real girls
@JanetPistachio
@JanetPistachio 28 күн бұрын
I'm sorry to hear you're in such a difficult situation. Life is hard, especially the upcoming teenage years. If your parents are not supportive, keep in mind while making your decision that you have the next 8 years with them before you are an adult, so if things go wrong, you will go through it for a while. If you are still set on coming out though, I would advise trying to discover how your mother feels about trans people. Based on that knowledge, you can make the choice for yourself. Don't let anyone, even people online like me, tell you who you are or what to do with your life. Think for yourself using your logical capabilities. Come to your own conclusions. Stand firm in your beliefs. Tread carefully, but most importantly have fun and be yourself.

As someone who has been DIY voice training for about 2 years now, I think I basically knew about all this. People say I have a passing voice now, but my two biggest issues are consistency, I feel like I slowly lose my voice the longer I speak, and also there's my own issues of self-perception, I feel like no matter what my voice never truly sounds like a cis girl's voice to me. It starts close at its best, but as I continue speaking I just lose that and it sounds worse. No idea if it's maybe a common thing to not hear your own voice as passing tho. Would love to know if that's the case, because that's honestly my biggest hurdle, my own voice not sounding good enough to me...

Some people find it helpful to learn a new language while training their voice. I am in a community that is built around a language that is currently evolving detached from real world languages. We play minecraft with proximity voice chat, but are only allowed to speak the other language, which we also learn in-game. It's more difficult than learning a language normally, but it's also a lot more fun. It is the most lgbtq+ friendly community I have been a part of, not counting communities that are directly built around an lgbtq+ topic. And you are not forced to speak either. There are nonverbal methods of communicating. I do reccommend using speech, though.

Just literally grab your adam's apple and pull up a little bit. Don't do it dramatically. Just a bit. Playing with your voice is more important than learning specific things. Just feel how the voice resonates in your throat. Feel it.
