Just returned this week from a first class return YYZ - DXB using Aeroplan points and was the best experience I have ever had on a plane. It was worth every point!

I had my Emirates First Class experience on the A380 when it first came out around 2010! Flew LHR-DXB-SYD-AKL-SYD-DXB-LHR for only CAD 8,000 at that time!

Just did the first class trip a few days ago using Aeroplan points. 4.5 cent/point valuation. Amazing experience with the Dom Perignon and 40,000 foot shower!

@ 258k from Dubai to Toronto. Worth every point!

Thats really on the high side. I just did JFK to tokyo in the brand in JAL First class, you should give that a try, it's my favorite first class seat now, more so than EK, and i use 144k Avios. ~Cris

@@PrinceofTravel All depends what programs people focus on and what routes are being traveled. I focus on Aeroplan and was happy with my 4.5 cent per point redemption.

Thanks for the tips. Can we combine both aeroplan & skywards points together for the same flight? If yes, how?

any idea why Emirates redemptions went up by 2.5x? used to be able to do YYZ->DXB for 110k now its 265k. ?

Hey, the roundtrip on Emirates first class between Hong Kong and Bangkok recently went up, it seems impossible to get it under 1.5 k USD now
@PrinceofTravelАй бұрын
Indeed. Because everybody knows this route now, so the demand increases, and Emirates has no problem increasing the price to maximize revenue. This is why we can't have good things for too long :) ~Chris

I recently used aeroplan points to fly biz class from DXB to DSP. It was disappointing that because it was a reward flight that I wasn't eligible to the chauffeur service from my hotel to DXB.

Is it possible to book an Emirates business class award flight via Aeroplan and upgrade to first using cash?
@PrinceofTravelАй бұрын
No, unfortunately. You have to book directly with Emirates (either cash or points) to be eligible to upgrade (also with cash or points). - Steve

Does Aeroplan dynamic pricing apply to Emirates reward flights?

yeah, not going to be fixed like other partner airlines

I'm not even seeing any Emirates J or F seats available on the Air Canada app throughout next year (2025) - I've checked several routes out of DXB to Europe and NA, as well as a 5th freedom route. When I started accumulating AP points about two years ago, an EK F seat out of DXB on a 7.5 to 8 hr flight was under 200k points. Now? 500k+ points if you can even find the availability. There must be another way. Can you possibly book a PY seat (with points) and pay cash for the upgrade? From what I have read, I don't think this is a possibility.
@MeITellYouАй бұрын
Good to see you are showing off with your J & F letters. Good you are showing off your gds knowledge 😂😂😂
@jayzee316Ай бұрын
there are tons actually, just that each ticket is 300-500k points, at this point just pay cash.

@missmegancarleneАй бұрын
@@jayzee316 This is what I'm thinking? Unless you're putting massive business expenses on credit cards, the average middle class or upper middle class person is not accumulating that level of points, even with responsible churning. MXP to JFK is a 9 hour flight on the A380. Cash F cabin is $7300. For a once in a lifetime experience, it may be worth it to just pay and use your AP points towards something more manageable.
@jayzee316Ай бұрын
@@missmegancarlene I totally agree, we are not poor but we don't have that level of spending to accumulate those points for a 2 person flight. We used to use AP for flights to Asia or RTW via EU, and it was great, and worth it to spend 300k points for a RTW from yyz to somewhere in EU to asia and back. These days I really can't find good redemptions anymore.

Great video - Would be nice to go slower! I have heard that Emiartes Boeing 777-300ERs now have been redone to 1-2-1!
@PrinceofTravelАй бұрын
Yes they have. And if you would like the video to slow down, try reducing the playback speed to 0.75x. You can do it on the app or on desktop. We can't be explaining things at slow speed without affecting the youtube algorithm, and resulting in less people benefitting from the video. The aim of our videos is to show you what is possible. While we explain certain things to greater extends, we hope you can rewind the video if you heard anything of interest to you. On desktop you can try using the "J" key. And on mobile devices, just tap the left-half of the screen twice to rewind 10s. ~Cris
@frankjesson8472Ай бұрын
I just wish you would slow down a bit, please you go too fast 🥺
@PrinceofTravelАй бұрын
It's actually not too fast, but because there is lots of information going on, so you think it's fast. We can't do a tutorial pace type of video on youtube without compromising youtube algorithm and leading to less people watching and benefitting less people. We encourage you to reduce the speed to 0.75x. You can click on the cogwheel icon on the video to change the speed. Hope this helps. ~Cris
