Alternative Universe Optimus Prime looks really cool. The faded death colors on him really matches up to his death scene. Trailer that turns to his death bed is a nice touch. Really like the comparison of him and Earthrise Optimus Prime. It's like a before and after photo. Would recommend, if available and if you can get past the tears. -I had the death of Optimus Prime music playing in the background as I opened the Amazon box and pull out his packaging. And I couldn't open his box. He remains on my display case as a closed casket.

The alternate universe thing I think is a reference to the dream wave armada comics, where the autobots found a dead optimus prime from an alternate universe, warning them that Unicron was coming. Though they said that this alternate universe Optimus prime is going to tie into the war for Cybertron Netflix series, we just don’t know yet.

If you don't wish to view this figure as a "DEAD" Optimus, one option that i've come up with is that this could be a version of Prime from an "Alternate Universe" where the Autobots lost the war and where Decepticon rule is the order of the day. He would have visible damage from his previous encounters (His head and left ab) and his colors completely altered to monochrome (Like Evasion Prime) so that he could better hide in the shadows from Decepticon bounty hunters. This way you could have him alongside some of the Netflix figures since they have increased damage paint apps and imagine that he and his few surviving bots have formed a resistance movement and plan to destroy the decepticon movement from the inside. Basically, think Beast Machines mixed with a bit of Man in the High Castle and 1984.

When Cybertronians die, they lost all of their color and fade to dark grey & black as what happened to Prowl, Prime & Starscream as their sparks were extinguished. Also, whoever called this "alternate universe", didn't know what they were talking about. Alternate universe implies that Prime only died in that universe, when he dies in "the battle of Autobot City"
