I think it comes down to which color scheme you like, whether or not you want screen accuracy, or if you just want to troop build.

In order to differentiate these guys more, doublepunch will have both of his hands (to double-punch), and scorponok can have have an extended neck (and due to transformation) his legs longer and creepier
