Great video! Such a meticulous process but the results are worth it!

Meticulous but rewarding, will look even better once they are on the bike

That looks great! You went way further into this project than I did. I’m working on the same 9 spoke mags for my old Shovelhead and finishing up right now. I removed the machining grooves from the outer top edge of each spoke and the silver part of the outside of the mags on the outer lip of each side. I worked those areas until I got the machine marks out and then up to 800 grit, and then polished into a mirror finish on that outer rib of the spokes . I masked the polished parts and painted the rims in satin black and then gloss clear. Then removed the tape and cleared the rims again, this time including spraying clear on the polished areas. The rims look way better now than they did when they left the showroom. Mine were pretty roached out, so this was a time consuming but inexpensive project. The rear is done and I just put it back on the bike. The front is sitting in the sun right now after the last of the clear was done earlier today. I’ll wait until tomorrow to mount the tire, but the disks will go back on tonight. Thanks for sharing your project. It’s nice knowing I’m not the only one .

I was tempted after the first side to do a contrast cut look like you but I had to see it through. But all the way to 800 I know those fingertips were feeling some type of way after all that! I wanted to go more to a mirror finish but I also like the idea of doing the lip mirror and having the inside polished to the way they are now

@@SlappysGarage I get it. It’s a pain. But yours turned out great. I’m just happy mine are done because it took way longer than I thought it would to sand the machining grooves out and then polish. Great videos!
