I worked for WV D.O.H 25 years as a supervisor..we put skid plate shoes on our mowers to keep the mold boards protected..they are easy to make and I know Cooper can make them or possibly Cat may sell them for a good pattern..or put adjustable shoes on it from a snow plow supplier and have Cooper modify them..either will work .

In my area of the country we would get trapped by a blizzard or two every winter. I was trapped at my job in 1992 and worked 5 shifts in a row with only 30 minute breaks here and there.Haven't had an honest to goodness blizzard in quite a few years now.

Up to middle afternoon Valentines Day Minneapolis and Saint Paul had only gotten 7.6” of snow for the season. We just got about 5” here in Stillwater Mn in the last 7 hours. Seems like most of the storms have gone south of us.

@nathanmeece979410 ай бұрын
Snowblower Needs something on it to adjust depth to prevent it hitting the dirt and rocks
@MrWashingToad10 ай бұрын
Could make some little ski's for the snow blower. Have cooper make some flat metal about 4 inches wide with a kick up at the front like real ski's to keep them from digging in, and then Menard's or Home Depot should have some Polyethylene HDPE sheets that you can get (think those slippery white cutting boards for kitchen) that you can get and cover the metal. Countersink some mounting bolts in it, and the metal backer would be fairly easy to either weld onto the existing blower, or bolt on. The HDPE sheets can be replaced as they wear out. We used to use long strips of the HDPE on our boat trailer - instead of just carpet on the blocks, we used the HDPE slats, and I could literally just push and spin the boat on the trailer if I needed - that stuff is super slippery (had to make sure I never forgot to strap it down, b/c it would slide right off if I didn't!).

They make a pipe kit for the grader blades on a plow so you don't tear up rocks and dirt when plowing snow. I wonder if you can do the same to a snow blower?

My 3pt blower has rear skis. You shorten top link to prevent digging. So skid *I am guessing similar* a slight tilt back should raise cutting edge a bit. Yes I park down first snows. This winter I hooked up blower. But might unhook this week. Unused.

Lived in Northern Illinois just north of I-80 ion the 1950s , returned in the 1970s. Know what your going thru. Sitting in Fairbanks Alaska where the temps went to -40F at night highs of -30F during the (short) daylight hours! You & Momma Cornstar need to plan a winter trip up here to catch the Northern Lights sometime (it will get you out of pushing snow!!)
