This is how all epoxy videos on KZbin should be. Not loud noises and time lapse. I come here to get information not to watch people show off. Thank you very much

Oh wow! That turned out awesome. I'm moving into a place that will need a new kitchen and I'm seriously considering building my own units and work tops. I wanted quartz worktop originally. But seeing this.. I'm seriously considering a live edge epoxy worktop now. Thanks. Oh, and stay classy. 😊

Maybe I missed it, but how are you attaching the sides of the backer panel? At the 10:12 mark there seems to be nothing for the side to attach to... The top attaches to the stretcher, middle is attached via the dividers, but the sides and I guess bottom as well?
@JonnyBuilds
@JonnyBuilds 5 жыл бұрын
Good catch. A detail I left out that will be discussed in the build article...whenever I get time to get that out. Hopefully after the holidays. Basically there’s enough to attach to on the top and middle to pull in the sides. For the bottom I added plywood strips inset the width on the 1/4” backer board at the back of the cabinets.
@JonnyBuilds
@JonnyBuilds 5 жыл бұрын
My original design called for the backer board to be a 3/4” plywood panel that stretched the length of the piece. I tweaked the design to save on materials and to open up that end so you can have two people sit at the kitchen island like a breakfast nook table.

Jonny Builds That makes sense. Thank you for the explanation 👍🏼
@JeffRevell
@JeffRevell 3 жыл бұрын
Would it make more sense to just add the pigment to the last of the three pours? Since you are using an opaque black pigment I would think that the first two layers are not visible under that last layer so any white pigment swirled into them would not be visible.

Beautiful build. Where do you get the 3/4 inch Baltic Birch plywood? I have found 1/2 but not 3/4. Been wanting to go into Vintage, but afraid I would never leave. Also, how much epoxy did you use for the pour? Keep up the great work!

60 % of the time I ask a question...every time. Is that Oddies Oil food safe with the resin top? This is a solid idea (no pun intended...or maybe it was) and I'm thinking about doing one similar for my place. Stoked to see some plans for this.
