I live on the west coast of Sardinia, which hosts one of the most desirable beaches known to the island, Is Arutas. It is a "pebble" beach, not in that it is rocky, but that the sand is little rice shaped/sized grains of quartz! They are smooth, and colorful, and an absolute marvel. Every year, tourists are fined thousands of euros for trying to steal the "sand", it's THAT beautiful! Anyway, after going to a beach where the "sand" just rolls off of your body, I'm spoiled, and despise sandy beaches where everything clings and sticks and gets mucked up into your lotions and oils. Don't hate on pebbly beaches just yet, until you've experienced them all!
@raheltd4 жыл бұрын
1) I'm mad enough to prefer pebbles over sand 2) the difference between Frisa and Bruschetta is in the way you prepare and cook/serve the bread 3) Bruschetta's pronunciation for brits: broos-ketta 4) My favourite part of your Italian trip so far was seeing you making pizza
@TravelBeans4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Rahel! Making pizza was definitely in my top moments.. So much fun and so tasty!! And thanks for the info! I've definitely been pronouncing bruschetta wrong this entire trip 🤦♀️😂 so thanks for the help!

Have been to Italy several times, but I have always stuck to the large "popular" cities. This series has inspired me to visit (perhaps even trace your route) smaller coastal towns, and not make any plans whatsoever. Thank you for the videos and the entertainment. You both bring something different to the videos.

If you happen to travel in July-August or around Easter, it's better off planning in advance since most places could be fully booked. Out of those periods, I guess you can have a wonderful experience also roaming around without planning much in advance.

Frisa is more like a rusk. The frisa gets soften by soaking in salted water before topping with tomatoes, salt, olive oil & oreganum. Those places are not “secret”! everyone in Italy knows it and I can’t understand why visitors, especially from the US doesn’t know their existence. Puglia is my region of origin, but all the south of Italy offers paradise beaches, archeological sites, arts, amazing food and beautiful towns where especially in the evening on summer the atmosphere is unique.
@yoliemarroquin73142 жыл бұрын
I think most first time travelers always focus on the major spots like Rome, Florence and Venice. I don't think I have ever met any first time travelers that are willing to skip out of those other major sites for the south of Italy and unfortunately, many will only be able to travel once to Italy. There are so many lovely areas in Italy to see and the south is most definitely a must for us, so after a few years of saying we need to travel there, we finally booked our holiday for next year in June and cannot wait to explore this spectular region. 3 nts in Martina Franca and 3 nts in Lecce. From there, we are heading to Tropea for some relaxing time at the beach.
