Traveling to The Rocky Mountains National Park in Early May!
(EPISODE 292)
▶︎ SUBSCRIBE HERE 👉🏻 kzbin.info...
ℹ️ About this episode:
In this episode of LivinRvision, we're journeying through Colorado to visit Rocky Mountain National Park and Estes Park. It's been since 2013 that we've ventured to this area due to the typically risky weather and road conditions during our annual trips back to Iowa to see family and friends.
Our adventure begins with an overnight stay at a Harvest Host location in Georgetown, Colorado. The thrill of staying at a Harvest Hosts site lies in the unknown, as each one offers a unique experience with different food, views and getting to meet others.
Next, we stop to dump our black and gray tanks, fill up on fresh water, and treat ourselves to a lodge stay in Estes Park. We rarely do this, but with Michelle’s birthday approaching, it felt necessary. 😉
The next morning, Michelle finds a charming pie shop in a brochure just before we head out to explore Rocky Mountain National Park.
This episode is packed with a wide range of emotions and plenty of laughs. As always, we aim to bring a little sunshine to everyone's day. ☀️🧡😊🤓

I don't know what cracks me up more, the funny stuff y'all say or that y'all crack yourselves up. LOL The views were amazing this trip. I could appreciate Michelle getting emotional at the views. I felt that when we were in Alaska, especially Icy Straits. One of these days, I'm going to record a split screen reaction video, to your video. Great info and entertainment! See ya next week!

Two summers ago, we stayed at the Air Force Academy Family Camp in Colorado Springs. We were there about a week. While we were there, my wife suggested we take the time to visit Rocky Mountain National Park. I told her that it was too long a drive. Now, seeing your video, I wish we had gone. What a beautiful place! We’ll have to go back.

We lived in Colorado for 23 years, and I remember our 1st visits to Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park, starting back in 1971 and I am saddened and perturbed by the fact that you have to make "reservations" to visit our Countries National Parks today. 🤨
@LivinRVision
@LivinRVision 27 күн бұрын
The reason for that is the influx of people and it can get overcrowded with extreme long lines that would hinder people’s time they get. With the reservations during the peak seasons allows everyone to get a chance to see everything they want.

Your video of Estes Park brings back memories of the last time I visited there. I had no reservations and all hotels were full, so I found a nice quiet place just before entering town to park and sleep in my Lincoln. I left the sun roof open. I was awakened around 5 AM. to the sound of snorting. I looked put of my window to find my car surrounded and in the middle of a herd of elk, about 30 of them.

Another enjoyable video. I last visited RMNP in 1992 with family. I think it was July and all the roads were open. We did Trail Ridge Rd and Bear lake. We also climbed Longs Peak! I only made it to 13,200ft but my brother-in-law sumitted the 14,255ft peak! I’d definitely go back but it sure looks more crowded. I’ve also driven across I-70 to Glenwood Springs and beyond in 2014. A spectacular drive for an interstate.

Well so glad to see a PIE SHOP. I thought that Michelle should have tried coconut cream pie to have a good comparison to her favorite one in Las Vegas. The mountains still covered in snow was breathtaking. Do you ever wish that you could stay in one location for a week or two just to see as much as you can? I wondered because i often feel that way when we travel. See you next week.

You mean my favorite in Palm Springs? (Sherman’s Deli) If we didn’t have to work all day during the week, that would help, but how can we complain when we are able to do both. We have things planned, places to be by a certain time and a channel to keep the content coming without driving king to one certain area for multiple videos. We realize it’s hard to see every detail behind the scenes.

You Must put on your list the Big Bend National Park bordering the Rio Grande and area n Texas. It is such a wonderful place, so much history in the whole area. There are so many things to see and do in the towns that surround the park. McDonald Observatory in Ft Davis & best preserved Buffalo Soldier Fort plus Ft Davis State (perfect for you) so much more. No many realize how wonderful this hidden area of Texas is- not n the summer. Too much to see in a weekend. It is beautiful.

For our 50th anniversary in 2018, hubby and I did our 1st western trip beginning in Denver. Twice, we drove to Estes Park from Winter Park for PIE! Did you not drive by The Stanley Hotel ("The Shining")? We went in the Fall so all roads were open. I was not up to walking so did lots of driving tours. We enjoy your vlogs, photos, facts, food, and pies. I get disappointed when Brian tells his facts in such a low volume and sometimes masked with music. That's when I use the cc. God bless your travels and thanks for sharing as always. Love from GA

Hi Brain, fantastic video! I've learned so much from your channel. I have a question: how does Michelle manage her work while traveling? Does she work while on the road, or does she wait until you stop?
@LivinRVision
@LivinRVision 22 күн бұрын
This is Michelle - I help answer these questions many times while Brian is still working. We do not work while traveling because Brian has to work the same hours in order to keep up with everything. Brian edits every single week more than 40 hours every week, so he does his editing portion while I am working. He has a deadline every week, in order to keep the channel going. My job ends at the end of the day, unlike Brian. So I never work while driving. In fact, Brian films most of the time while we are driving too, always looking for certain shots. Not every channel is the same, but there is so much more to do than the editing as well. He’s did a video about our work life if you haven’t seen it, even though it doesn’t catch every single detail, it gives a little bit of an idea of our work life. Many nights he still has to do more editing, work on our website and many other things that people don’t realize. He puts in so much more than a “normal job”. People tend to think there’s not much to a KZbin channel, but if someone were to edit for a company in a normal 40 hour work week, they would get more respect, thinking that they work harder. 😂 As you can tell, I’m very proud of him and all he does. 🧡🤓

I use Final Cut Pro with a MacBook Pro, but the software has very little to do with how the editing comes out. Most of these editing software programs do much of the same things. It’s all up to you with all the details.

When the hiker shuttles are running, you can park at the visitor center in Estes and shuttle into the park, transferring to a park shuttle at the park and ride in the park. There is ample parking in the park and ride also, but you would need a Bear Lake corridor entrance pass during the high season. The shuttles are great as you can start at one trail head and have more options as to where you exit. Thanks for your FEMA work in 2013. Some areas are still recovering.

We travel in a little teardrop trailer, and stay in a motel once in awhile. I can't sleep a wink in that motel. I'm more comfortable in our tiny home on wheels. Love your ending music by Tommy Lundgren, right?

Can you do a Video on How often you do Services on your Rig and were are the best locations.And if any problems with the DEF system.Thanks

We switch out these units before they need their first service which is at 20,000 on these. Remember, we are just testing these models. This is our fourth. We have put on between 15,000 - 17,000 miles usually and have never had any issues with the DEF system.

Off topic but I think you had a video showing some sleeping bags you use. Do you have a link to those please?
@LivinRVision

The easiest way to see those are at our website LivinRvision.com and click on our Amazon Store link. They are listed in there and called, Disc-O-Beds. They look like sleeping bags, but are not.

What’s the coldest temperature that you travel in your Grech Rv using the tanks? I own a Terreno-ion and I’m always concerned about traveling when it’s cold. Thanks

We had a video a year or two ago where we traveled in 20° temps back to Iowa. We explain how to put RV antifreeze in the macerator/pump and then turn on your tank heaters. It’s not a four seasons rv but you can make it work if done properly.

Planning a break-in? 😂 🤪Just kidding of course. 😉 The Mercedes chassis comes with the same security before the manufacturer builds them out, but some people add their own.

Made me wonder, do you use any rodent detergents?
@LivinRVision
@LivinRVision 26 күн бұрын
@bevbender3587 we do not. We were just talking to each other today about how we don’t get hardly any bugs in this, partly because of no slides. Rodents, definitely not.
