Datgai Yong there is plenty of seafood eaten there as well. As for the raw vs cooked, that's just regional preference. Also British cuisine is highly influenced by other parts of Europe and places they've colonized or traveled through which is shown by their love and use of spices and meat dishes

Being born and raised in the west in often find it fascinating eating habits of our eastern neighbors. My girlfriend is from Vietnam, as a result I've been eating Asian food that I would've never thought I'd enjoy. I never thought I'd enjoy seaweed as much as I do. Honestly, it made me realize how much healthier Asian food appears to be. Although I love big fat burgers and authentic Latin American food, I can't help but to also crave Asian foods I can't even pronounce properly.

Clams are excellent filter feeders. They draw water into their bodies, filter out microscopic particles, algae, and organic matter, and release clean water back into the environment. This process helps to maintain water clarity, remove excess nutrients, and improve water quality.

Marine products are the Japanese specialty. I have never heard, for example, that the British grow different types of seaweed for consumption, or that they grow pearls. Each people with its own culture. Outside of Japan, raw beef and pork meat is consumed in the form of carpaccio, raw kibbeh, hackepeter, tartare, etc. Hhhmmmm...
