Only got mine to 41 mph running the same 6700 mah traxxas batteries, on 18/54 gearing though. Still not bad for 25 lb truck I guess.

thats not bad at all bud, change that gearing a bit you'll be closer to the 50 mark for sure, i didn't change the gearing on mine for speed alone this truck was already fast enough in my opinion i really wanted to calm the wheelies down so it just didn't slam on the wheelie bar every time i wanted to take off relatively fast

plus it's hard to get a full run on 8s because we could here that the 8s couldn't reach top speeds because it couldn't run in a straight line and it could stop tire spin before you had to let off the throttle.

Is tge s6 t s8 it's just the battery? Like I want one and I wanted the s8 for obvious reasons but I found a great deal on a s6 but idk what to do. I'm definitely a newbie lol.

The first generation XMaxx was the 6s they came out with the second generation xmaxx which was 8s shortly after

@@fullthrottleobsessions I bought the s8 but it came with 3s batteries 🙄 and the esc is like patchy and sometimes cut completely and then resume and is it's a max6 I'm guessing it's fried

Yeah its there 18T pinion with the supplied 46T spur i really like this gearing set up it mellows the wheelies out a bit so your not slamming on the wheelie bar every time you hit the throttle

I really dont think it would have any issue hitting 50+ on the street brother, this thing had quite a bit left in it on the dirt it just had a little to much to really control on the slick surface

Right on brother, id say you did just fine going 6s, honestly most the time I prefer running on 6s especially if your running in a smaller space. Running on 8s you really need a wide open space to open this beast up otherwise its kind of pointless and dangerous lol

The xmaxx just takes a beating i got the truck when it debuted 6s version the lame 6s esc fried but no biggie then i got the 8s kit and swapped her out . Its been go 6 or 8 yrs nothing i mean nothing broke yet. Im just ready to rebuild the center diff and add thicker fluid id like to do the fron and rear as well. I may even take the cemter out and lock it like it was with the 6s version i like wheelies 😊 i had not ran 8s yet but will soon.

Nice!!! I bought the 6s version aswell then the 8s came out right after I had to have it lol. I haven't had an issue with the 6s esc but I know they did have issues with the early ones I think by the time I purchased mine they solved the issue on the escs

Love the vid and great comparison however on 8S you state it handles really well? I don’t think I saw you have much control in keeping to a straight line. Not being smart, Unless of course you are referring to something other than controlling the truck? I’m very new to this hobby.
