This is fascinating! I’d love to hear a similar history of the desk that the Queen used in the her audience room at Buckingham Palace and at which she was seated when James Bond came to escort her to the Olympics Opening Ceremony in 2012. They're not identical, and it's at Kensington, not Buckingham. There's actually 3 total. All made from the wood of HMS Resolute.
