Was never a fan of previous Trek bike designs until now. This is the best looking aero design currently out there! Especially, in the Satin Quicksilver colour! Just love that colour /design! I hope to eventually upgrade to this bike even though I don't really need such a high end race bike.

The biggest feature you guys came out with is the $14.000 price tag, now, I paid $8.000 for my 2019 Nissan Altima, that thing weigh a ton, your bike weigh 6Kg and you still managed to convince people it's worth that price tag, that's what I call genius!

Hey Trek, any plan to release an effective seat post clamp for the Domane SL5 Gen 4? I have the REV 2 clamp but the seat post still slips, regardless how many times I apply carbon paste, or bring it to the shop I purchased it. It’s so frustrating
@Flashback_Jack
@Flashback_Jack 11 ай бұрын
Design looks great, but Trek, I suggest you do some pre-emptive reassuring because that seatpost looks fragile as hell and many online share that sentiment. Great bicycles should last decades with proper care and while this (the SL7 version) is one of two bicycles I'm comparing for an eventual purchase--the other is the exceptional value Canyon Aeroad CF SLX 8.0 Di2--but I just can't imagine any sort of real longevity for that seatpost even with any average sort of riding with the expected occasional bump. I know carbon has come a long way but I'm not sure I'm convinced at this point, personally.

@trek - Can you please explain the differences between OCLV 800 and 500. Understanding that there is a weight difference, through using less higher strength carbon, however does that change also adjust the ride. i.e. are the ride qualities of the SLR and SL imperceivable, when racing (!).
@trekbikes
@trekbikes 11 ай бұрын
Weight and stiffness are the two big factors that differentiate our carbon series. Our higher series, like OCLV 800, cuts weight from OCLV 500 by using a new carbon layup. The carbon layup factors in the type of fibers, the thickness, and the direction or type of weave that lead into the strength, stiffness, and of course, weight. So while we can't spill the secret sauce, we change this layup between different OCLV series' to offer unique weights and stiffness that benefit your ride. In a race, weight and stiffness matter so you can put the power to the pavement.

@HarryTzianakisTheGodOfSpeed Жыл бұрын
@@tanqinxiang There was never a better break system created then the one that the2015 to 2018 Madone had. The brake system is not one piece like the Shimano which ships and you'll get rim rub if it's loose. The Madone brake system is individually mounted on the frame. Each side individually moves. They are very similar to the campagnolo Delta brakes.
@tanqinxiang
@tanqinxiang Жыл бұрын
@@HarryTzianakisTheGodOfSpeed didn't the campagnolo delta meet it's match when the shimano released their dual pivot brakes used till modern days? The delta design is supposed to be inferior?

@@HarryTzianakisTheGodOfSpeedthe integrated brakes on the Madone 9 are some of the worst rim brakes I’ve ever had the displeasure of relying on. They’re truly terrible, to the point that when Trek did the 2019 Madone SLR they made a completely different front brake system that was marginally better but still pretty terrible compared to traditional dual pivot systems.

I like the new bar setup a lot. But as an engineer I like the failure mode of the old Madone Isospeed seat post so much better. When the new seat post fails, falling off the bike into the rear wheel with my gonads is too much risk for me. Further, it’s just a stupid looking design. Sorry Trek, I hate the “Skank-Tail Madone”.
