Love your reviews. Down to earth, friendly, professional. Keep up the great work. Can you also do a tutorial for miles bookings? I checked this individual flight and you are right it is possible for a fair amount of miles (I found 130.000 Skywards + 630€). Using AmEx MR Transfers this has a cash equivalent price of only 810€+630€ = 1440€, which is great. However, in many cases, miles cost much more or you need many more miles than some travel bloggers claim (probably to get you to get a new credit card for which they receive points). More tutorials on the differen major carriers (Etihad, LH, Singapore, United, etc.) would be great!

I'm fascinated to see how you're able to book these amazing first class flights for so little. Seems like when I look they're always egregious. Also, for what it's worth, though caviar has traditionally been served on mother of pearl spoons it's only because it's been consumed for far longer than stainless steel or plastic was available. The best "silverware" of old was indeed silver because it has a natural antibacterial property. Unfortunately, caviar oxidizes with contact of silver leaving a metallic taste. In modern times with blind taste tests there is no difference with mother of pearl, stainless steel or even plastic. So mother of pearl is probably more in line with the cost and glamour of this experience, the fact that you can only use it with caviar is a bit passé.

Extraordinarily spectacular, with impeccable service! Emirates seems to be in a league of its own when it comes to COVID, with implementing innovative technologies/solutions to make the world move. Caviar has to be eaten with a mother of pearl spoon and not a metal one! Definitely first world problem! Fantastic review!
@dimitriye983 жыл бұрын
So, that's not actually true nowadays. It's still tradition, and it used to be true because almost all the metals used for tableware were reactive except for gold (which is incidentally the other traditional choice for caviar spoons). Nowadays though, we have stainless steel, which is completely nonreactive and won't affect the taste of the caviar. Alternatively, plastic is also a very good choice, though obviously even less classy than stainless steel. Glass works too.

Honestly if you're smart about buying the tickets and get them basically by buying miles when they're on sale like you did, $2,000 both ways isn't bad for a 6 hour flight at ALL. I mean I am comparing it to non-international flights in the US as I tend to fly from the east coast to the west coast pretty often. By extension the cost comparison for a flight that's basically twice as long, the prices are actually pretty much consistent with that and I don't get nearly the level of luxuries that this plane has. It makes sense for longer flights to have nicer stuff though.

FIrst Class is really only great if you fly really long and not alone. For example from Europe to Australia. Otherwise it doesnt make you feel more relaxed or better. The food is slightly better, if you have a very long layover you can also buy nowedays an entry into First Class lounges (if you fly business - for example Dubai and Doha). There are a couple of very special first class suites but to be honest, it is more a bucket list type of thing. Business Class is normally so good, you dont need first. Especially if you fly with Qatar Airways and the Q-Suite. Better than most first class experiences.
@Trektrendy3 жыл бұрын
Have to disagree partly with you here. First is always a good experience, I flew EK F from Cai to DXB and even on a 4 hour flight, having a shower and fine dining was incredible. I guess it’s all down to personal preference / miles utilisation and budget. This specific product is probably more useful when travelling alone anyway due to individual cabins unlike other duo suites on say the A380. Now where I fully agree with you is Qatar, their J is so good it does make up for a lot of things. Wishing you safe future travels, and thanks for watching :)
@misterminister38583 жыл бұрын
@@Trektrendy Well of course it is a nice experience but unless you are getting upgraded or have miles to spare for an upgrade, the price is simply way to high to justify it. You will not be more relaxed on a 4h flight than in business. The food is slightly better but if I compare the QSuite vs Emirates A380 First Class, the food is not that much better. If a shower is needed you can also shower in the lounge.

Super video. As for caviar... here is my story. I have been living in Vietnam for many years and often (well at least before 2020) go to New York for family visits. Just before my trip some years ago a friend who had just flown in from Moscow gave me two tins of Russian caviar which I decided to bring back to New York to enjoy after my long flights. When going through US customs I always declare that I have some food lest I forget something and get a huge fine. Declaring food usually requires an x-ray being no big deal as I travel light. The agent noticed the two tins and he thought that a guy coming from Vietnam with two tins of Russian caviar and no trinkets from Vietnam seemed suspicious. Believing I was smuggling diamonds he opened the tins to find nothing but caviar. Alas!
