I was waiting for them to mention Garrett Morgan's "inventions." Most of the stuff Garrett Morgan was credited with inventing, he never really invented. He was an 1800s version of a "patent troll." he went out and filed patents on things that had been in existence for decades that no one else decided to patent (one of them is the dust pain.)

The ending was hilarious. I think most get caught up on Trevor's last remark and miss how the producer thanks Doug so excessively that he unintentionally reaches the point of condescension. But why have Doug give examples that were mostly untrue? Viewers who decide to play the part of Trevor by looking up said inventors are validated in their initial notion of Doug's erroneousness. It's incredible how many types of people Trevor Moore lampooned with this sketch. RIP to the comedy genius himself.

This is a censored version. In the original version, Trevor says something along the lines of "really?" To which Doug replies "no", and then it goes to the part where he says "but y'all wouldn't know that". Although it's almost just as funny that people can watch the censored version and still question it, because it's just common sense that blacks didn't really invent any of those items; the ones that they "did" invent, such as the stoplight, they still really didn't. The stoplight in this example was created by a white man decades before Garrett Morgan *patented* it, which even then he did so alongside two other people, both white. But that's American culture today, everything has to be ruined by negrification thanks to a certain religious group that will never actually have to experience the consequences of it because they don't live here.

The basic concept behind air conditioning is said to have been applied in ancient Egypt, where reeds were hung in windows and were moistened with trickling water. The evaporation of water cooled the air blowing through the window. This process also made the air more humid, which can be beneficial in a dry desert climate. In Ancient Rome, water from aqueducts was circulated through the walls of certain houses to cool them. Other techniques in medieval Persia involved the use of cisterns and wind towers to cool buildings during the hot season.[3] Modern air conditioning emerged from advances in chemistry during the 19th century, and the first large-scale electrical air conditioning was invented and used in 1902 by American inventor Willis Carrier. ~ Wikipedia

*I googled some of that stuff. Inventions and who invented them:* *Peanut butter* - not George Washington Carver, a patent for manufacturing peanut butter was awarded 12 years before Carver started working as a professor. And the Aztecs knew how to make peanut butter too, they just didn't patent it. *Rap* - unclear, since a music genre isn't just invented *Basketball* - invented in 1891 by James Naismith *Air conditioning* - Ancient Egyptians already used passive air-conditioning, first modern electrical air conditioning invented in 1901 by Willis Carrier *Cell phones* - First handheld mobile phone developed by Motorola in 1973 (first car phone in 1946 by Bell Telephone Company) *Stethoscope* - invented in 1816 by René Laennec *Typewriter* - "some form of typewriter was invented 52 times" throughout the 19th century and even earlier *Mechanical heart* - invented in by Forest Dewey Dodrill (first artificial heart invented in 1937 by Vladimir Demikhov when he implanted it into a dog that survived for 2 hours) *Doorknobs* - invented in the stone age *Elevator* - invented by Archimedes in 236 BCE, modern safety elevator invented by Elisha Otis in 1852 *Fire extinguisher* - invented in 1723 by Ambrose Godfrey *Guitar* - different chordophones invented hundreds to thousands of years ago, they became more guitar-like over the years, "modern" form developed around 1850 *Stop lights* - first installed in 1868 by John Peake Knight (it then exploded a month later and injured its operator), first electric traffic light invented in 1912 by Lester Wire *Potato chips* - first recipe in a book published in 1817 by William Kitchiner *Gas mask* - "modern" gas mask patented in 1849 by Lewis Phectic Haslett, respirator invented in 1785 by Jean-François Pilâtre de Rozier *Super Soaker* - invented in 1989 by Lonnie Johnson (who also invented the nerf gun and lots of other stuff)

We don't know who invented the guitar. It's speculated that an Italian man by the name of gaetano vinaccia could have built the first guitar; but we're not even sure of that. The guitar was evolved from the Greek instrument the lute. Which have been dated back as far as 4000 years ago.

As far as i can tell, almost none of the information in this video is correct. Out of all the things that Trevor says, i think the only thing he got totally correct was the Wright brothers' invention of powered flight. Everything else appears to be either a myth or a gross exaggeration. As for the guy at the end, the only thing he says that appears to be accurate is that Garrett Morgan invented a very early gas mask to help fire fighters breathe while inside burning buildings. Everything else appears to once again either be a myth or an exaggeration.

That wasn't to you. That was for That guy that hugs puppies. This is what I say when a response is so much more complicated than can fit in a youtube comment, and when I'm too exhausted to start an argument. Basically his response was ignorant. Your comment was a little misinformed as well, but I'll let it slide. And it's not that your comment is "wrong" per se. It's more like looking through red tinted glasses and calling the world red.
