Trey must’ve been a breath of fresh air, someone who understands Cater as a PERSON, so much so Cater felt comfortable to open-up to him.

Cater and Trey are definitely the most healthiest duo in twst. They understand eachother and literally know eachother like the back of their hands. They have eachother's back all the time. Now, that's how friendships should be.

TBH, I feel like Trey and Cater are much more closer to each other than Trey was with Riddle. Even though Trey and Riddle make amends with each other, the bond they used to share when they were kids is no longer there. Which is sad since Riddle is basically alone. Ace and Deuce had each other, so as Trey and Cater, while Riddle is alone.

I kinda have this headcannon that just like Trey and Cater used to like Deuce and Ace during their 1st year with the latter creating chaos and Trey getting dragged. Their antics alomg with some incident that boosted their popularity made the previous vice dorm and dorm leaders of Heartslabyul to choose them as their successors and they literally took office as their new roles until Riddle came into the pic. Riddle defeated Cater and became the dorm leader himself. The fact that he could not hold on his own against an underclassman and his best friend didn't even stand up for him thanks to his history with Riddle were enough to build Cater's depression even more. Trey knows how he feels but can't talk openy about it thanks to his emotional weakness and guilt towards Riddle. I actually hope their silent misunderstanding is solved dueing the Heartslabyul dream arc of chapter 7

I really hope the Heartslabyul arc of Book 7 does that too. I think that is a part of the reason why I am looking forward to Book 7 getting to Heartslabyul slowly but surely. I really love how you phrased the “Cater Diamond was the Past Housewarden” theory because I have seen fans kind of pinpoint it as that being the only reason Cater is depressed, rather than just a contributing factor. Seeing how you described it makes way more sense and the conflict that could arise with Trey kind of being the middle. ⚠️Spoilers for Trey’s Platinum Jacket Card story below.⚠️ The closet we have to Freshman Trey and Cater (so far) would be a story that Trey shared where there was an incident with the roses they were painting. Trey and Cater made mistake due to some upperclassmen telling the wrong thing, but the upperclassmen placed the blame solely on Trey and Cater, causing them to get banned from the dorm for the rest of the day by the former dorm leader at the time. Trey and Cater plotted their revenge against the upperclassmen, with Trey using his Unique Magic on some food they eating making it incredibly spicy. The glee the two of them felt was immeasurable based off of what was described. It seems like sometimes Trey willingly walked into chaos as well. But I do agree he likely got dragged into chaos mostly. Those upperclassmen honestly had it coming…

IT’S HERE! IT’S HERE! I was SO HAPPY to see this video! Thank you so much! I love their relationship SO MUCH! But there are aspects of it that are also rather tragic because of Cater’s issues with forging connections with others. Trey is probably one the only people that genuinely cares about Cater, sees/knows the real him, and is likely the only person that he close friends with, even if it is very complicated for Cater. I hope he doesn’t let Trey slip away… I saw a post that was comparing Trey and Cater’s bond as being like bonded cats that cannot be separated and must be adopted together, and it honestly captured their dynamic pretty perfectly. I honestly do have A LOT thoughts about them, but unfortunately can’t share them all right now. I’ll have to see soon!
