IRONMAN WALES 2022 Race Day

I shouted “Triathlon Dan!” At you on the run. Awesome day. Crazy swim. After I crossed the line a volunteer collected my street wear bag, finishers tshirt and got my medal engraved while I ate pizza! Amazing crowds and support.

Great day out again. Awesome support as usual. Was next to you on the last lap of the run walk/running it. I had little motivation left. I was told 3k into the first run loop I'd been Dq'd for dangerous driving, no red card shown or info given. Walked 3.5k to see a marshal that radio'd the race control who said I should carry on running, brother also asked race control who said the same and didn't know what was happening as the app was down. Got the medal and tee but no time and still DQ'd in app. Appealed but told non-appealable offence. Pretty pissed about it after the long wait, but we will have a go again for a 4th time next year. I saw the official offence list there were 3 red cards given, 4 yellows given, no blue. Enjoy the recovery 👊

Well done Dan. Completely echo your comments on the support and energy in the course, by far the best of any IM I’ve done. I felt like Pidcock through the Alp DHuez going through the tunnel of cheers. The swim was insane! Well done on such a good day, everyone who crossed that line should be so proud.

I live in Los Angeles. Went to sleep while you were in the water and woke up when you were on the run. That was my easiest Ironman ever;) Sub-4 on the run is always my, as of yet unattained, goal. 4:04 4:06 4:09. It’s tough.

Hi Dan we had a quick chat before the off in the changing tent. Think I will have ptsd about that crazy swim, got camp on the swim in Happy with this coverage managed to catch me coming out the swim and o the run. Still managed to get 3d inn my age. group and earn a Kona slot whoop whoop
