I doubt VERY much the average middle American could tell you what a tamarind is so I find it adorable you think we would put one in our TACOS... heavens no. Here in Iowa (the americanized) Tacos have Ground and seasoned beef, Lettuce, Shredded yellow Cheese (that no self respecting latino would ever do) Tomatoes, and if we are being super fancy refried beans and or black olive rings, served on a white flour tortilla (un heated or cooked) with up to 2 of 5 potential sauces 1) Guacamole (Avocado spread for those who dont know) 2) Sour Cream 3) "Cheese Sauce" (industrial chemicals mixed to taste like it ALMOST tastes like cheese) 4) Ranch ( It's a little white trash to do this so I use Bacon Ranch so I can be Capital T Trash) 5) Salsa (a sauce made of Tomato (both Juice and cubes), Onion, Garlic Powder, Cilantro, and fair odds on there being at minimum Jalapeño Peppers....Though likely it can be HOTTER peppers than that). THAT is how you make an AMERICAN Taco

My favorite dish from mexico is ceviche. Ceviche is a very interesting kind of dish made with white fish and lime juice with lots of coriander, diced tomato, peppers, and onion. It's not heated, but the acid in the lime juice cooks the fish so that it becomes very white and firm as if though it had been cooked and makes it taste very good. It's often eaten as a hangover cure with deep fried tortilla chips.

Briana Gebell Briana Gebell who asked for this? What prompted this? What’s going on in this persons head? And even though there’s like 8 paragraphs in this, I have no idea what they’re trying to say. I’m Hispanic, my mother’s Mexican, her ancestors came from Spain. If you’re just trying to say “hey, people who are Latin actually originate from Italy. It’s a commonly misused term” Just say that. Instead of all this word vomit and screaming about appropriation. Something’s been lost in translation across the pond, chill.
@RANDOMNESSbyJack
@RANDOMNESSbyJack 4 жыл бұрын
Briana Gebell Also, people on the European side of the Mediterranean are undeniably white Europeans. That goes for the Spanish, the Italians and the Greeks. All just as white bread as those in England, Scandinavia or France. You’re not that far south. And you’re screaming about propaganda, but who’s benefiting from using the word Latino or Latina wrong? Show me how using this word wrong hurts the country/culture of Italy and those who derived their culture from it. You’re just screaming APPROPRIATION, IGNORANCE, PROPAGANDA, but propaganda for what purpose? Who’s reaping the reward? There’s no reward to be reaped, it’s just a mistake that’s so insignificant that I don’t think anyone actually cares. I think you should start crafting your own identity, instead of needing the right proper noun to decide what kind of person you should be.

The main misuse of God's name is when the immature or youth say Wallahi to every little thing even if it's not true. @@Reactistan Well, I feel there are distinct differences. There is "Mexican food" in Mexico. However, there is also "Mexican food" in America. This is called "Tex-Mex" (Texas + Mexico). They are different from one another. This first difference is using corn tortillas vs using white flour tortillas. But there are many more.

When they said not enough spice, they were not talking about spicy hot. They were talking about the spices that they use in middle eastern food. They did say the chutney (salsa) was good and spicy.
