Super appreciate the honesty. Every video I saw made it seem like they should be free as a bird. Every sequence ended the same...smooth rotation with a decent amount of resistance. You finally showed me the resistance is expected.

Thanks for showing them turn with a little bit of resistance. Another video i watched is near identical to this, but his results were knuckles that turned with no effort. I was expecting mine to turn effortlessly with 1 finger but mine have a bit of resistance. I think I'll finish reassembling it and see how it goes.

Good video. I have a dodge 2500, but very similar setup with a Dana 60 front axle. I put new ball joints in it, more or less followed this procedure, but didnt clean those sleaves. They did move around in there pretty easily. Well, it has the typical wandering effect consistent with memory steer. Alignment is perfect, and it drove much better before the ball joints. Do you think its possible to reset these ball joints and clean the sleaves without a complete disassembly? Or am I destined to do this whole project over again with all new parts? Its been around 1000 miles, hasn't really gotten any better. Neither side was overly tight and I could move them both by hand with the truck on jackstands.

You could definitely reset them. When you don’t clean the castor sleeves somtimes they cause some binding during reassembly and things don’t end up seating properly causing that wonder feeling
