I loved this. I will never forget my trip in the 70’s I fllew on a KLM 747 from Toronto to Amsterdam I was nearly empty we were able to go upstairs to the lounge and drink. It was the best trip. I would love that flight to Johannesburg.

We experienced a lot of trouble last summer due to staff shortage at AMS. Nowadays it’s getting a bit better. It’s really frustrating since KLM can’t do anything about this huge airport problem. As cabin crew member I can tell everyone that it wasn’t just Amsterdam with big staff shortages. I’ve been plenty times to LHR, FRA and a lot of other European (big) airports and all with the same trouble and staff shortages. Since covid it’s a worldwide problem since there are everywhere shortage of staff, not just in aviation. As KLM worker I also know that we are doing all our best for our lovely passengers. For you guys, thank you for choosing KLM and of course we really hope to welcome you onboard KLM again soon! Hopefully in better times, where airports fixed their problems with staff shortage. I flew this flight KL591 (and same aircraft type) in Feb this year. Happy to say Schipol seems to be back to normal in processing passengers. Very easy through check-in and boarding. Had a seat in Economy Comfort, which was fine. Good flight. Food was quite good. Cabin crew were friendly and efficient. We departed about 10 mins late and arrived in Johannesburg 10 mins late about 10:20 pm. Overall a comfortable flight. KLM is a good airline.

Amazing trip report as always! It's frustrating to see how the baggage handleers treat the suitcases. Apart from that, stunning views of the Sahara desert during the day. If you send the video to the management they won't do anything trust me, they are doing that because they've to offload a big which they doesn't know which one it's. It is a must to just throw the suitcase because of back injuries so this is nothing compared to the baggage hall where u actually doesn't see it but if u see it u will never fly with checked baggage. After all klm is the best one in bag service if it was swissport or aviapartner they wouldn't even let bags on the aircraft so yeah I hope you seem to understand it

Yes, this Summer for flying to Europe was a mess! I flew to Italy in June and back to the U.S. in July and the airport experiences were not good there either. I did hear about all the problems at the time in Amsterdam. I'm glad you showed the mishandling of luggage in this report and the very next minute I laughed out loud when the "don't be this passenger" title was on the screen. It is just not acceptable to have one's feet up like that but there are people out there that just don't care. I did enjoy your views flying over over Africa and information. Always nice to wake up on Saturdays to another trip report. Thank you for your excellent videos☆☆☆

The nice thing about north-south flights is there is not much time difference so the jet lag is minimal. Of course, the season can change if you cross the equator like on this flight.

With respect to the baggage handling, when you deal with bags everyday they become just another bag. And those containers are not easy to load, especially when you have to unload them to find a bag, then reload those 40-50 bags, which I’d imagine are heavy as well. Then add in time constraints, you’re not going to be handling these bags with care when you have time pressures etc. Any rampie will tell you that. As well, that wasn’t even that bad so I don’t understand the criticism, it’s not like they were throwing them 10 feet across the tarmac, that was actually pretty gentle in comparison to other KZbin videos I’ve seen. Some compassion should be shown to the ramp staff, it’s not an easy job. That aside, I love your content and videos, they are amazing quality so keep them coming!

Excelente tu reporte. Yo volé hace unos meses la ruta desde Santiago de Chile a Amsterdam con escala en Buenos Aires. Tome el vuelo KL702 en material B787. Mi experiencia en vuelo fue fantástica, la mejor en muchos viajes, rica comida, muy bien atendido. Sin embargo los aeropuertos una experiencia MALA. Partiendo por la escala en Buenos Aires Ezeiza, lugar donde estando en tránsito por una hora tuvimos que desembarcar todos y volver a hacer seguridad.... (insólito, mal en eso por Argentina). Luego 13 horas más para llegar a Schipol. Muchas demoras extra por problemas de personal en el aeropuerto. En todo caso, independiente de eso volvería a volar muchas veces más con KLM. Lejos superior a Iberia, Air France y la línea bandera de acá de Chile LATAM. Felicitaciones por los videos.

Un vídeo interesante para conocer de primera mano las vicisitudes del mundo de la Aviación, cómo tu bien dices la experiencia de vuelo en el avión ha sido satisfactoria pero en los Aeropuertos da vergüenza como tratan las maletas en Amsterdan eso pasa porque los operarios están sobrepasados pero los viajeros no tienen la culpa y cómo no refuercen las plantillas de cara a las Fiestas Navideñas será un caos seguro. a mi me paso un caso parecido el mes pasado en Sevilla . Me recordo mi primer viaje al extranjero. saliendo de Santiago de Chile por KLM Jumbo 747 a fines de la decada de los 80 a Sao Paulo Brasil el vuelo hacia escala en Buenos Aires Montevideo y Rio de Janeiro mas de 10 horas en el avión faltando el tramo Rio Sao.Hoy vuelo directo scl sao en una oportunidad via Latam en un 787 en vuelo solamente desde que despego en santiago y aterrizo en sao fueron 2 hrs, y 50 min.. Welcome at Schiphol, It is indeed a shame that there is so much delay at Schiphol. Fortunately, there are no longer 8 hours of waiting time, but 4 hours is still a regular occurrence. Schiphol can normally handle passengers, but after corona there is a staff shortage everywhere. Nice video, but a mistake at 4:34 this is not a dreamliner but a Boeing 777-300. and at 3:34 the registration is PH-BVK and not HB-BVK. keep flying!

I flew KLM ~ Boeing 777-300ER from GRU to AMS and AMS to GRU for me was the best economy cabin instead Lufhthansa and Swiss i really apreciatte KLM and recomend this airline! Now KLM pick the top of my scores and is my favorite! 👑💙

the meal portion are small that's why u felt hungry during midflight and not used to be as I flew KLM between AMS and YVR several times for 9 hr flight the meals served were adequate. Even the snacks at the galley are mostly stoopwafel and not much variety

Thank you for a great flight. The B777-300ER is a magnificent aircraft, and glad to see that the KLM onboard service is still good. However, the airport at Schipol is now a disgrace, which is sad, for before Covid it was always a nice airport to transit ! As for the wrong gate at Jo’burg, that was a farce. Clearly no-one cares, which is dreadful after a long haul flight.

Sensaciones de todo tipo en este vuelo... Contratiempos desde la salida hasta la llegada X2 son esos días en que las cosas no salen del todo bien. Respecto a la panorámica del desierto... Terrible nuestro futuro, no ver nada de verde es conmovedor 😥😥 Nota: muy sencillo el interior de ese avión, no tiene gracia, falta color, creo que los de Emirates y algunas aerolínea norteamericanas y asiáticas, la sensación es mucho mejor en el interior de sus aviones, felicitaciones por tus apuntes y Viajes, nos muestras tus vivencias que sirven mucho, un abrazo desde 🇨🇴

this took me back to my trip to Greece on KLM a couple weeks ago Our luggage was lost for two days when we got to Athens because of delays in AMS; then on our return home, we had an hour and 1/2 delay in Athens to AMS so we missed our connection and had to stay the night; luckily they provided hotel rooms...
