The need for the app is really at best superficial. He never conducted market research and users' behaviors to begin with. When a person come to an airport, anything that was built with the airport infrastructure has its own sign, like bathroom, restroom, bench / bed lounge, smoking room, etc... And anything other than those are restaurants, food court, souvenirs, duty-free stuffs ,...etc and the problem is that to a customer, they make no difference. A customer wouldn't go out of their way, download an app just to find a Burger King, if he has seen a McDonald, he would come to it immediately without caring whether or not a Burger King exists. The dude create a superficial problem and solve it himself, his product serves no real purpose and at best, compare to other big one like Google Map, it's just a mere feature, a module.

Just a little update, in 2021 that app was worth $4.5M with an annual revenue of $3M. Which is prestty good. It was mainly due to the "shark tank effect" though, where when something is featured on the show, it takes off running

He’s never been knocked down before and always been told “you’re the greatest” .. I hope the best for him, but this is something he needed. The world is cruel and you’re not always gonna be the winner. Re-evaluate yourself and your ideas and sharpen them. You’re just pitching a seed that could be a giant tree of ideas.

In life at least he'll know he's the greatest to his Mom. There's nothing wrong with that. I fact, that is a beautiful gift for there will come a day when his mother will no longer be this side of heaven and on one of his hardest days he'll hear her voice whisper, "You're the greatest." One thing is for sure there is nothing in this world quite like having a loving mother. At the end of the day, she's still believing in her son while they passed him by. Loving parents are a priceless treasure. Perhaps that's the best reality check yet. People come and go throughout our lives but loving parents and family are priceless gifts and treasures. ❤️

I felt so bad for the owner of Trippie. He was so unprepared for the Sharks' feedback, and it was brutal. I really think he should have gotten more help from his advisors.

People are allowed to be human. You think none of the sharks ever had a moment like this in their lives either? You could tell he was hurting, but you can tell that he also had that passion, that fire driven behind him. The sharks were definitely right to tell him what he NEEDED to hear, and they weren't doing it out of malice. Here's to hoping he learns from their wisdom and comes back fighting with an actual product.

I can not imagine Mark Cuban or Mr Wonderful being driven to the show by their moms, let alone them crying out self pitty when heard a NO !!!

It's a decent idea, but with it barely off the ground, his valuation is insane. If he came in asking for 50k for 40% maybe he could have got something, maybe. Even then I'm not sure the sharks would be interested because they'll end up doing all the heavy lifting of trying to market it.

Hmm? Bro put google API, menu from some restaurants in airport, and MANUALLY update the data and call it app. Its like an app made by beginner, but to make a product out of this? Its horrible. None of the feature work. The only thing that works is an OUTDATED restaurant menu. Im not kidding you when i say third year at my Uni can code better than him

@@nomad640 oh man. Yeah I just downloaded the app and it would probably take a day or 2 to get all of the basic functionality of the application working. Another day or 2 for the UI/UX. It doesn’t even work at the moment lol. Looks like he gave up on it.
