Live vocals are the best, and live vocals from someone who can actually sing live is beyond. Her voice is a true gift. No tricks or processing needed. I would actually love to see what the producers of her tracks do in the studio. It's probably so sparse, compared to the teams of vocal production people and tools needed for most current "singers."

I wouldnt be too too concerned with Adele's distortion. Just like Miley Cyrus, Lady Gaga, Kelly Clarkson,, Katy Perry, Sia, Demi, Celine Dion, Solange Knowles (and likely Beyonce since it's genetic) , and many other famous all star female singers (and Freddie Mercury and Elvis actually) have clear hypermobility systemically throughout their body's joints and related autoimmunity, dysautonomia, neuroinflammatory, addicition, etc diagnoses, strongly suggesting they have the high narrow palate and the age ol' "stretchy esophagus" along side their collagen synthesis irregularities based connective tissue disorder characteristics of Ehlers-danlos syndrome/ hypermobility spectrum disorder. Its considered "very rare", but that's because there are 13 subtypes with 10 out of 13 forms being extremely rare. Whereas hypermobility (used to be type 3) and classical/classical-like (type 2 and 4 previously) types and it's related cousins of Marfans/ Marfanoid habitus (Michael Phelps), Sticklers disease (Bethoven), and hypermobility spectrum disorders are thought to collectively be as common as 1 in 33 in some places around the world. They're just often left undiagnosed/rarely diagnosed because they strongly effect women disproportionately compared to men in symptom severity.... anddddd gender bias in the medical field from the old days of "hysteria" still linger subconsciously in modern medical intervention today..

If I understood you correctly you are suggesting that some singers have physical traits (that are regarded as medical disorders) and those traits make their voices the way they are?
@frankied.roosevelt62323 жыл бұрын
@@pancakesourdough8057 yup. In most forms mentioned, they occur because of the body creating faulty collagen that results in stretchy skin and hypermobility throughout the body, as well as affecting almost every soft tissue in the body. The more common term most people recognize in terms of joint hypermobility manifestation is "double jointedness" and hyper flexibility

I think that slight breathiness or pulled back sound she has comes from her accent. With most British accents, the tongue is pulled back a bit more, usually a bit too much to be comfortable singing without tension. With someone as talented as Adele though, I think she's using a bit more forward placement than her speaking voice, but still allowing the tiniest bit of that "tongue tension" to show in a way that's still healthy for the voice. I think it's really cool to hear people with accents sing because the vowel sounds for singing in English are typically pretty universal and fairly in line with an American accent (although not perfectly). So people with British accents for example kinda have to modulate their typical spoken vowels more than someone with an American accent and that's what creates these interesting qualities to Adele's timbre. It may also be why she and Sam Smith sound similar if you pitch Adele down or Sam Smith up. I at least remember that being a trend in like 2018 or so
