I was working on this series of techniques. My training partner hit his bicep muscle on my elbow and the technique paralyzed his right arm for at least 1 1/2 minutes, putting him in a disadvantage. Very nice technique. The frame defense is easy to use against a hook punch. If you crash into the attack you can easily injure the bicep with the point of the elbow. In Kali it's called limb destruction. Thanks for the video

It reminds me of the Keysi system or wing fight where the biomechanics react in a powerful and explosive way without losing opening in the defense. It is interesting to follow your videos.

Very cool well thought out striking combinations. Great for guys who have some boxing training where they know how to use their hips and shoulders to generate power and can move forward with balance. What I like most is that once you develop the muscle memory by working with a good training partner and slowly ratcheting up the speed and power once your good training partners. Guys with a decent level of experience who understand (1) a steet fight is not a boxing match but experience in boxing and muay thai simpky for shoulder mobility necessary for theowing overhand downward elbow strikes and reverse elbow strikes (experiencdciin graoplibg is a plus because good submission grapplers suzhvas Jiu Jitsu players use framing and understand how to use structure (the position of the bones and I understand for the purpose of demonstrating the move, the aggressor threw a hook which although it is a common punch, at first I thought this was a reference point self defense reliant on the aggressor using a specific move that you specifically train for which never happens in real life. upon closer inspection I realized the reference point was simply to illustrate a very workable technique. Even in boxing and wrestling training you are often working situational drills that aren't dependent on that particular situation but that help you deal with common situations that frequently, and almost certainly occur in most competitive matches. Situational drilling is simply to get the athlete used to responding automatically. It's not like many traditional martial arts that are watered down where you learn a specific technique for every unrealistic situation in which a fight is supposed to start. For example, grab my left wrist with your right hand and then stand there. Come up behind me around the waist in a big gentle hug. Throw a reverse karate style punch from your hip directions to my face and I will use a rising bone on bone block it Spike the fact the human reaction Time relative to human action time is about 80% slower so classes that teach you that if someone tries to sucker punch you can effectively block it is bullshit. The difference here is that it seems to be based on a situation where things are escalating and the guy tries to throw a haymaker but you don't use your hand to do a specific block you basically put your head down and use your whole body to intercept the punch which may still not be a pleasant situation but you are training to flow into a number of gross motor powerful strike choosing your entire body in close range when your opponent thought you was either going to knock out one punch or if you guys were going to play patty cake and keep distance. Or he was going to hit you with the first punch drop you and then start stomping on you, so instead of letting rhat happen he was treated to a bicep destruction, two powerful elbows to the head as well as an eye rake and possibly a busted collarbone. That sounds like a trip to the ER to me To summarize this was one of the best self-defense techniques that I've ever seen because it can work against so many different scenarios using pretty much the same thing with the only change being which side you frame. That means that that means that's the only changes you really have to make when you're training this way is understand if the strike is coming from the left side or the right side or to that into the head or the body. After that it's just a matter of learning how to adjust the frame and the rest of the techniques seemed pretty much identical. 1) the entire series uses gross motor techniques which are the only kinds of skills that can be ingrained to the point where they are second nature and it can be done so quickly if you trained properly executing plenty of reps and ratcheting up the intensity after you've got the body mechanics down perfectly. Drilling a technique over and over is the only way any technical work so this is not a criticism but I'm impressed because it's not one of these tricks that people show that never works 2) the flow of the techniques are seamless so that you can develop a great deal of timing and speed with plenty of power as each movement builds momentum and power for the next movement and sets it up. 3) the constant forward pressure and powerful strikes that seem to build in power as the appointed back pedals makes it very difficult to defend. 4) no matter what phase of the movements you happen to be in from the start until the finish at no point are you overly exposed and the appointment really has no answer to any of the things that are happening because the pressure is so continuous. 5). You demonstrated an effective way to drill the technique show the several different levels of intensity. Most guys who show techniques for self-defense neglect to show a workable way to train the technique for mastery. And they also fail to explain that you shouldn't attempt any technique that isn't second nature and automatic. No matter what combat sport or martial arts you are involved in the only way it works in real life is if you first developed proper body mechanics slowly and then once you got that down your opponent provides gradually increasing resistance love you sweetie you're not going to train this series but the way they trained it with the pads, it's still possible for the drill to involve your opponents throwing a fast forceful strike at you and for you to flow through the movement with speed and power and timing what's the two of you gradually learn how to execute the technique properly anything that works must be drilled to the point when you know it without thinking. That means that once you're comfortable moving through the technique with speed power and precision in a controlled environment. You probably still need to drill a thousand more times1000 more times, which is obviously an arbitrary number but what I mean is that once you think you can do it do it about 5 times the amount of times it took you to be able to do it well. And at that point continue to train it keep it Sharp. Once you've done that the average person on the street who's going to throw up on you regardless of the size it's going to have a very hard time not ending up hospitalized. .

But even if you do miss that elbow is that hammer fist unexpected though let's say you know he backs up when you try to throw the elbow when you're too short it worked for me I guess it would luck because I guess I stepped in on the right 45° angle if I'm correct I mean I use the box and so yeah but anyways what I was trying to say is would it work even if it backs up that hammer face is still available and so is that downward collar forearm strike than that right cross

I know it's an older video, but after the block/defense, why not just slam your left elbow into the opponent's face instead of coming in with a right punch? Economy of movement and all that. Just curious. You still would have your right for a quick follow up if need be.

Great combo. It looks highly effective. Just my opinion (and heavy emphasis on opinion) but before the initial dropping elbow a quick back fist jab from the lead hand might buy precious seconds to follow through with the big elbow. To much hate and criticism in the martial arts world so I don't want to offend anyone.

hey I got a question when threw the hook and you set up the frame block but I think if that person is well trained then he can take a step with his left leg and your ribs are open and he can give a massive blow on the ribs or for the block you are stepping in so when you stopped the hook if he is trained in grappling then get the access to the back of your head and connect his hips or waist to ur body and give u a body smash? plz reply

Do you guys spare with this kind of technique? With the frames etc?
@tritacacademy
@tritacacademy 5 жыл бұрын
Hey James, we do. But when sparring it's "tighter" and I don't have my amateur MMA fighters throwing elbows. It's illegal until they turn pro. But we do use frame 1(overwhelmed defense), frame 4 (entering frame), split frame (our main defense). We also use a lot of hammers as well. A big part of where TRITAC is evolving too is the integration of striking, takedowns, grappling, multiple opponents and weapons into a cohesive system. Basically "No Rules MMA"

@tritacacademy
@tritacacademy 7 жыл бұрын
+MARTIALJUSTICE101 Why not? :) If that's your application of TRITAC, the use it! We teach you how to use all elements of the fist / hand. Hammers, palms, chops, cuffs, slaps, backhands, etc. In our curriculum(s) we have series and drills to develop certain attributes. So, if the backhand "feels right" and it follows in a solid combative mindset, AND it is something that you can use effectively during live sparring (including 2 vs 1, wall drills, etc); then it is definitely something "you could do". There are no wrong answers in TRITAC except the ones that put you and... Your Tribe in danger.

Has this ever been tested in a bare knuckle match? I know the turtle cover in boxing works, more so due to gloves(!) and in street fighting of course it has its place, but the question is against what type of strikers your system cannot handled and also in regards to the probability of the follow up striking with elbows and punches, chops etc. It looks nice in the video, but that IS NOT reality. Surely, bare knuckle matches like the following can prove the actual degree of expertise the system provides for blocking: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oHO4oZuEr82pkKM kzbin.info/www/bejne/m2W3Z4t3Z82ffqc And on a lighter note: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fnWoZaCGaJmWfpo I know it's not gonna happen, just saying.
