The song is basically about not giving up and being authentic in a world where betrayal, wanting everything easy and compromising your values is the standard. Also, it is clever in the fact that the lyrics also mention that it is your responsibility to make things happen in your life. If you want to achieve things, victim mentality is not going to cut it.

Great Choice You will Really willl Like this Band went to see them 9 times started listening in 1979 I saw them less than 2 weeks after US Festival I grew up in Texas and a radio station in San Antonio started playing them a lot and they are from Canada the station brought them down to headline a Festival and got them going their Songs are mostly positive Songs Lyrics Rik Emmett was the whole Rock’n Roll package Amazing Singer Amazing Guitarist! So many Songs I think you would really Like I saw this tour supporting their album Never Surrender 3 times

I was fortunate enough to see this band in SoCal in their prime. They were always seriously underrated for some reason. What a voice and phenomenal guitar playing.

These guys were BETTER live than studio versions in their prime IMO. They’re extremely talented musicians, each of them. Rik Emmet has his own school of music in Toronto.

In my option, Never Surrender was one of the best Triumph albums. I love every song on it.

For me it’s number 2 behind Thunder 7, but my absolute favorite song is Play With The Fire off of Sport of Kings, which is also a great album.

The guitar rhythm is played on a 12 string with slap back / delay. You should watch the live version from the US Festival

I know I really enjoy watching people like you with the same appreciation that I was having in 1979 when I discovered this Band and back then no internet no computers and you had to search out Bands and that was what I did I would Love if your Generation had Triumph when it was going on like it did for me in later 70s early 80s songs have so many unique changes and that is what got me the very first music a 8 track tape that I bought with my own money was Rush first album and Working Man Finding my Way and I was only 14 years old but I watch so many reaction videos people your age and I think for sure Triumph would maybe be as popular if not more like You I really got into the music and you remind me of how impressive it was to me I was sick a lot young and in Hospitals and This Music was my Escape I think I mentioned having to go to Doctors and Hospitals so much My uncle’s gave me their Beatles collection and Really I look backand the music the Beatles created led me to these type Bands because every one of these Bands and their Great Musicians were influenced by The Beatles!

Triumph was our major key, jazz/classical/blues influenced, positive message, guitar virtuoso metal band! 😂They were so unique from the rest of the scene but you could still bang your head to it...and the girls loved them!

Fusion, variety....the styles of Rik Emmett emulated on this albumn......plus, these guys were like conservated good boys, no drugs...and rarely saw them with a Beer....Canada....beer??? I'm sure......😂

Back-in-the-day Gil Moore used to hang out at one of the local bars he would come in late at night sunglasses on with an Entourage of hot women like a true Rockstar❤ Rik Emmett definitely underrated guitarist❤

At 15 yro I saw Bad Company open for Triumph in '86! But Triumph was half cheeze by then! I ended up getting thrown out by cops during Triumph's set!😂 El Toro Tequila is a helluva drug!!! Rock On!🤘😎 ✌🌎❤

Hi John I just discovered your channel a short time ago because you reacted to Triumph. I don't know if anyone has brought this to your attention yet. I'm late to the party. (3 months ago you posted this video) The line: "30 golden pieces for the Judas kiss" I believe to be a reference to the betrayal of Jesus by Judas, the price for his betrayal: 30 golden pieces. What's the price for you to betray your beliefs? "I only have one life to live, it's going to be mine" I will live the best way I know how and with my moral values. "Never Surrender"

Triumph we’re an amazing band. Loved every album up to and including Thunder Seven. The two after that we’re very disappointing. I’ve never even listened to the final album without Rik. Too bad they couldn’t keep it together or even pull it together for the proposed reunion. They were great live.

They actually broke up after Gil's dad passed away. Rik tried to encourage him to get back to the music, but Gil wasn't ready, and lashed back. In his grief state, he reminded Rik that it was him and Mike that brought Rik Into the Band and it was HIS band.... That was what broke them up. They have since reconciled. But Gil is more focused on operating their studio "Metal Works" Rik still tours with "Revolution 9" and plays from the Triumph catalog

I love the production on Allied Forces the best. Fight The Good Fight is my favorite but there are many, many fantastic songs by Triumph.
