Why this band is not in the U.S.A. Rock N Roll Hall of Fame is beyond my comprehension. I just don't get it. They are in the Canadian Rock N Roll Hall of Fame but there are 1 hit wonders in America that are in the Hall of Fame in America. Not once did I ever hear anything negative about this band as far as drugs, booze, or sexcapades. They are veterans of there craft, and every single one of them deserve to be to be in the U.S.A. ROCK N ROLL HALL OF FAME!

Wasn’t a huge fan of Triumph back in the day as I was more into progressive rock. I was very fortunate to have worked in the music business & a lot of my very close friends were musicians. And it came a time when one of those very close musician friends had me work on Mike Levines house while him & his family were on holidays. Then going forward from there became very good friends with the Mike his wife Rosie & their son Matt. I’m very greatful to my friends Phil & absolutely love Mike, Rosie & Matt. Very dear friends thank you. “One Love”❤

Joe Anthony with 99.5 KISS radio station, San Antonio, Texas baby! That's where it all began for a lot of these awesome rock bands such as Triumph, Rush, Budgie etc. I was a kid of about 12 years old and I used to listen to all of these bands in the Joe Anthony Show on 99.5 KMAC/KISS radio station on my little transistor radio at midnight. In the mornings I'd find my radio on the floor next to my bed, the battery run down. BAD ASS rock and roll memories!!!

Triumph is a Canadian band... They actually started in Canada, unfortunately they struggled to get decent airplay in the US. Radio station Payola was a massive issue in the US, and many Canadian bands didn't get the break they deserved because of this type business transaction. Canadian bands like Max Webster, April WIne, Toronto, Headpins, Coney Hatch, Chilliwack...just to name a few Canadian bands that were totally underrated.
@thehappycappy1205 жыл бұрын
yip you are right on that I got to know Rush and Triumph not by radio but from my older brothers on both occassions

Lloyd Bonafide Rush is considered one of the greatest prog rock bands in the world. Their drummer Neil Peart who recently passed away is considered one of the greatest rock drummers of all time. I love Triumph but rush is in a league of their own and they were together for over 40 years and had sold out shows for decades. If you don’t like them fine but maybe you should just leave it at that. I would like to see if you can play Tom Sawyer on an instrument but I’m going to bet you don’t even play one because most musicians respect rush.

The San Antonio DJs who broke Triumph were Joe Anthony and Lou Rony (sp?) of 99.5 KISS. They also brought Rush, AC/DC, Journey, and a lot of others to town when hardly anyone else had heard of them. For a while in the mid to late 70s San Antonio was a great place to be for rock.

For a 10 year old kid just discovering rock music for the first time, watching their videos on MTV (and they were ALL OVER MTV in the early 80s) Triumph was everything I imagined was great about rock and roll! The double neck guitar, the big huge electric sign that lit up the word "TRIUMPH" behind them on stage, a drummer that could play drums and sing at the same time---TRIUMPH was MY FIRST favorite rock band--I still had lots of learning to do

No offense brother, but please don't call them our 51st state. Even as your fellow American, that has to be taken by them as an insult, even if a LOL follows. They are a proud independent nation, and I would guess they don't want to be looked at that way. They have added so much to our North American culture through music and comedy and friendship. And don't forget, they independently stormed the beaches of Normandy as well. Never been there, but love you Canada!
