My uncle is MIA from the Korean War at that parallel .... 1/21/53 Charles Shay... HIs brother my uncle Ed did two tours hand to hand in those mountains... he tried to find hi brother and was arrested after stealing a Jeep to go find him... Uncle Ed came back with a cigar box half full of gold teeth. I’m in tears just thinking about what they went through.. Triumph

Ive seen them 6 times all from the 80's when they were at the top of there game and when all there hits came out. every time they were LOUD and clear sounded just as good as from the record or better ! yes they Rock and there Concerts are a Blast and always a good time !! Long live rock !

One thing I love about Canadian bands is their work ethic, staying level headed, and determination not to allow Sex and Drugs to take away from their Rock and Roll. BTO and Rush lived pretty clean lifestyles out on the road, too, and they took a lot of flack from fellow bands they toured with who wanted them to party with them, but they understood the way to stay alive as a band was to read good books and get a good night sleep! I saw them for the first time heading to Municipal Auditorium in San Antonio with The Runaways, someone else I can't remember it was a very good show, see Triumph about 3 times and then Rik Emmett about another three times, the blinding light shows like their favorite

One night I was listening to the local Baltimore rock station playing a show they called midnight metal , all hardcore metal and this song they played was blowing our minds , we didnt know who it was.The song was rock and roll machine, we were guessing motorhead along with many other bands .When they said who it was we were blown away , Triumph ,3 dudes tearing it up .Unbelievable is all we could say.

I've always loved RUSH but I like Triumph more for different reasons -- more down to earth. Their music seems more like old school rock, and they have a singing drummer.

Triumph is definitely up there in my all time top 10 favorite bands list. They're the only band that I've ever heard that I think sound better live than in the studio. Their " stages " album is one of the best albums I've ever heard in my life, and one of my all time favorites.

My first ever rock concert was a Triumph concert back in 1977 at the Ottawa National Arts Center...I was hooked that first night because of the explosiveness of their show. I went to a half-dozen more Triumph concerts, but through the years I learned to appreciate their music not only because of the outstanding quality of their skill as musicians, but for the positive messages of their songs. I know all the words to all their songs and I always sing along as it uplifts my spirits. Since their split in 1989, I went the Rik Emmett way and have been following him ever since. This band has had a great impact on my life through the positive messages in all their songs.

Loved Triumph all through my formative years. Saw them the first time on April Fools Day 1983 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Foghat was supposed to open but cancelled so Head East opened. Great show! Their music was powerful and positive which set them apart from other metal.

They were one of what I call the nice guy bands, as opposed to all the bad boy bands. They always had an uplifting, inspiring message in their music, like Kansas, REO Speedwagon, Boston, Rush, and a few others. Unfortunately when the 80's started really kicking into gear the only new bands promoted by the record companies anymore were mostly the bad boy bands, with songs about nothing but sex, drugs, and rebellion (like the hair metal bands).

I think triumph is more a kick ass Hard Rock band! Rik's soaring voices, guitar skills, and Mikes bass grooves, they are really on point. The drumming is always great too! Gold old fashioned formula for the way Hard Rock should be. I loved seeing the performance they did at the US Festival. One of the best bands at the entire show! Hard to believe that many people and not one problem. Pretty damn awesome. Now if only I could have that Dean Rik played but the Hard Rock owns it now. :-(

My biggest problem with a lot of heavy metal bands is not so much they dwell on the occult, as much as it is just BORING to do so! There's only so many songs one can write about Satan, darkness, etc--I mean, it just gets OLD. How about refreshing lyrics for a change? Triumph made music that kicked ass, but their lyrics were different, dealt with real life, and positive
