Correction at 2:23 -- The Tiger Sport 660 does not actually have cruise control! You have to step up to the Tiger 900 for that. Not even the 850 Sport has it.

I Know that Trident is more fun, but I’m a daily commuter, so I use the bike this way, topbox needed and some wind protection. Luckily I have some time for weekend excapes, short fun rides, so I beluve the Tiger would be the best for me. 😊

Very interesting perspective. I am a happy Trident owner but did step into your channel due to...Speed Twin! I do consider Speed Twin as my next bike as I am really into neo retro'ish style. Current iteration has only two downsides: lack of full LED and slightly rudimentary dash. I am not against analog dash, I would just love to see it combined with nice TFT instead of those small LCD screens. New subscriber! ;)

Another great review! I wish Triumph put Michelin Road 5s or 6s on all the modern classics and non-rally Tigers. At least they ended the reign of the Pirelli Phantoms. Also, Eliot Mr. VB...still waiting on your yellow helmet Shoei vs Arai comparison video...!

Thank you! I had wanted to wait to do that video until I'd managed to get rid of the Arai, but that has proven to be impossible so now I'm stuck with both helmets. All the better the film a comparison I guess!

@Van Blamm thanks for the review. Do you think Tiger Sport 660 is more comfortable than Speed Twin 1200 (or 900) for long distances? Especially for the driver but also for the pillion.

Hard to say. Ergonomically, yes, the Tiger 660 would be much more comfortable than the Speed Twin. But the 1200 cruises much more effortlessly than the 660 triple. In my personal experience, if the engine is working hard, then I am working hard too. If you're not bothered by turning a high rpm just to sustain freeway speeds, then I think you'd prefer the Tiger for long distance riding.

@@VanBlamm Thanks for the reply. So the absence of wind protection is less important. Any thoughts about the Speed Twin 900? I love your videos with the long tours but I am wondering if it is possible to do similar trips with the 900cc.

I had the Street Twin several years ago (now called the Speed Twin 900) and it was a decent cruiser too. It sits at the same rpm on the highway as the 1200, it just doesn't have as much pulling power left at those speeds. But the seat is a lot more comfortable than the one on the Speed Twin 1200.

Interesting take. The Tiger 660 would probably feel sportier if it wasn't so tall. Not clear to me why they would do that to an otherwise sporty street bike. I'd take the Tiger in blue on looks alone though. Bags are icing on the cake. Easy enough to remove the windscreen if it causes grief. I had the same problem with the clutch on my Versys. I much prefer the lazier action of twins. I eventually got used to the Versys, but I'm not crazy about feeling like a squirrel trying to steal a nut to make smooth gear changes.

@@VanBlamm It was. And thinking back, it may have something to do with the slipper clutch mechanism on the faster spinning bikes. I had an FJR an '06 FJR that was a big, fast inline and while it had its share of issues that bugged me, I don't remember a temperamental clutch being one of them.

This is what we got instead of a faired Street Triple. 765 is high strung on the freeway too. Even the Speed Triple spins too fast on the freeway ... seems like a Triumph thing.
