Let it idle and warm up for a minute with the choke on. I always used to give my throttle a couple of twists before kicking it give it a shot of from the accelerator pump. Always started first kick

Thanks for the advice! It definitely needs slowly kicked three times with a couple of throttle twist before you kick it hard. I rebuilt that bike and it's actually doing pretty good now. I love all the feedback and all the comments thank you guys!

​​​​@@wolverinebear5357 some 450's are fucking nuts i had a ktm exc 450 that was an absolute bitch to kick over (worth noting im pretty light weight) always got her started easy enough at the start but after 5+ hours technical trail/enduro riding stalling it out left me dead in the water if i couldn't bump it there, didnt have the strength or weight in me anymore when fatigued 😂 i could literally stand on the kick start with all my weight and it would barely move you really had to put all your weight on and jump into that thing or it wouldn't fire up.

clean the jets and adjust the fuel mixture screw on the bottom of the carb. i got a 2001 yz426 and the carb clogs up quick if you dont run em

I have the same bike and I was planning on swapping out the factory front number plate and headlight with a normal flat plate without the headlight. Any advice on how to do so? Thanks

Mine didn't come with a light on the front of it but there's probably a plug and play Connection for the light That you can disconnect or cut the wires and cap them off Tape them up. There's probably a mounting bracket for the light that comes off pretty easy too. And then you just buy a regular number play. If you take some pictures and send them I can help you. Show me what kind of light it is traced down the wires see if there's a plug and play connection or where do they go And I can help you determine what to do

You can hit the gas when starting the bike lol😂 and you can give it a little gas with the choke in especially when it’s a cold start. I’m not saying go crazy but you can.

Try bumb starting it by pushing it real fast and then popping in the first. If you have a car or four wheeler or truck you could kind of rope onto it and pull it down the street and then bumps started it by popping it in the first year going fast
