Truck Won't Wait For Train & Bumpy Welded Rail Track! Abandoned RR Tracks & Sponge Bob Square Loco!

Truck Didn't Stop For Train At Railroad Crossing With Horse Watching! Welded Rail With Divot Causing Bumping & Clacking Noise, CSX Sponge Bob Square Locomotives, Norfolk Southern Train At The Wye On CSX. These trains are in Walton and Florence, Kentucky and a bonus train in Hamilton, Ohio next to where the old train station used to be.
First train is at a railroad crossing with cross buck protection in Florence, Kentucky. A truck ran the stop sign when a fast train was approaching. A horse was watching but wasn't interested in any of the live action. What did you think about the truck ignoring the approaching train?
Then I changed railroad crossings and shot an angle that I have never done. Check out the view of the CSX train with 3 locomotives in Walton, Kentucky. We see a block signal next to the crossing. A few years back there used to be an old L&N signal here. What did you think about this view and the Sponge Bob Square Pants locomotives? We also see a closeup of my radio as the train passes the defect detector. This is Main Street in Walton. Norfolk Southern is just barely out of the picture across the road and behind the buildings.
Next we return to the first railroad crossing which is Totten Lane in Florence. We see a close look at the rail to see why it makes clanking noises even though it is continuous welded rail ( CWR ). A heavy grain train passes by and makes the awesome clanking sounds.
After that we take a look at an abandoned railroad crossing with a couple of abandoned sidings. One side of the road still has the track in service although it is very rarely used. I have seen maintenance of way equipment stored on it but that is about it. Then we leave Florence again and go back to Walton. This time we are at the Locust Street railroad crossing and a fast train comes around the banked curve. Check out the leading locomotive. It's a Union Pacific unit. There is also a boxcar on the manifest that has its door open for Shoestring. Lol.
Final shot is a bonus video that I filmed a couple days prior in Hamilton, Ohio on the CSX Toledo Sub. A Norfolk Southern Railroad intermodal train is running north on CSX until it gets to its own track just a few miles north. It is heading to the NS New Castle Sub to run westbound towards Indiana. Can anyone tell me what are in the Schneider tanks on the first railcar? I have never seen these before. The tanks say that they are impact approved.
There are also a couple of ambulances and a fire truck in action before we see the pets and slide show. All of the Kentucky trains were filmed on the same day.

Well, cheers for CSX! That first (CDX) train had little graffiti. Hopefully CSX is improving their yard Security. RR freight graffiti was just begining when I worked for ATSF in 1967. Love notes would be painted on cars, such as Johnny loves Suzie.

Beautiful first train! What gorgeous video. That truck had to have misjudged its speed! That baby would take 2000’+ to stop. Oh well. If you’re going to cross, do it in in 1st or 2nd, and be accelerating through the crossing. Never be on the brake. If you’re going, make a decisive move. Oh, and make sure your estate is in order. There would’ve been no 2nd chance with that train! 🙀

Speaking about cold weather - I was shooting one of my PSA videos for the Saline PD and the wind chill was something like 10 below that day. So I tell the officer, when you pull in the parking lot, I'll do my intro and you pull next to me. Well, that worked great until he snuck the patrol car up behind me and hit the lights and sirens. I jumped 3 feet in the air and all the cops thought that was hysterical. So the next day I left a box of donuts on his patrol car. What they'll for that welded rail is put a form around it and do a phosphorous weld and grind it flat. "that's railroadin'" has a video about it.

Great train action JT!! I would think with you showing the defect in that weld job on the track, that they would get out there and repair it soon. Fantastic area to view trains. Love the small back country roads that the tracks cross and you can get right up by it and enjoy the locomotives more. Could sure tell it was cold there as in one scene, your face was red! One of these days I will tell the story of how I got arrested for having these radios on me only a couple miles from this crossing. I have a license for them but the cops didn't understand the law. It was the Twilight Zone. The judge dropped all charges when we showed the cops the law and my license . My radio license is also on my plates!

Great video. In my city, all stop signs are required to be a certain height from the road surface. And, starting at the base of the sign pole a wide stop line is required to be painted on the road surface, showing vehicles where to come to a full stop. I don't know if this applies to railroad crossings in the state where you were filming but that truck was clearly wrong to blow past that stop sign. Thanks for another great video. Amazing what little respect some drivers have for an oncoming train. It might be due to the lack of gates at that crossing. Great NS train though :) I notice that you are the man when it comes to steel coils! You find them almost everywhere and that is cool as it means we are manufacturing stuff :) I also saw boxcars - yay!

Not a smart move on the truck driver's part. But I suspect he may have thought he was so overloaded that if he did slam on the brakes, he'd lose a lot of his load, or worse -- send it flying into the train. That wouldn't be good either.

You caught some nice trains in Florence, Walton and Hamilton, Ohio in this video, Jaw Tooth! That is some interesting pitting in that welded rail joint on the Norfolk Southern on the Rat Hole Line. Those Schneider National tanks are containers rather than tank trailers. Instead of having wheels on them like a gasoline tank trailer, they have a frame around them so that they came be loaded on train well cars. The tank containers are moved over the highways by putting them on a trailer chassis like a container is placed on a chassis. There is an outlet with a valve on the bottom rear of the tank container that you can see as the train rounds the curve. If you look closely at the outlet, you can see the handle of the valve that opens and closes the outlet pipe. These tank containers are either empty or they are loaded with a non-hazardous liquid. Both tank containers at one time contained hazardous materials. You can see the outlines of diamond hazardous on each of the containers where hazardous placards were pasted on the containers. There are no holders for hazardous material placards like you would see on tank cars that normally contain hazardous materials.

One time in a town in Alberta that is not far from me I was waiting for a southbound train to come into town and the gates and lights were on and suddenly I saw a police car race towards the crossing turned on the red and blue lights and sirens just to cross the tracks and the car got across just seconds before the train roared past I was like oh my goodness that was close train had 2 engines on the front 93 cars 1 mid dpu and another 93 cars and then a DPU on the end of the train and I was shocked took like 8 minutes to get past town

Trains coming and going speeding up and slowing down at least nobody ground to a halt. Once the grain train lost his pusher the ooomph disappeared and we still have millions of cookies to bake. The bonus train with all those domestic containers may not have all the post holiday Blues because on national TV this a.m. numerous stores will tell you to just keep erroneous merchandise if it's not worth repacking for resle or costs too much to ship back. Also extremely rare at the lead were 2 40 ft liquid bulk containers as.almost are all half that size. Apparently Santa is laying in extra eggnog so enjoy one in moderation
