@@franklinbrandon5283 I went from a 8-10 hour a day dock worker job. 700-800 take home a week, home daily, weekends off. To an otr job thinking it would improve my life. It pays the exact same , I’m gone 3 weeks at a time, always in preplanning mode, gotta use hours to find parking sometimes, cooking in a cramped cab, no weekends offs. Always on call. More chance of dying on the road. Getting stopped by Dot officers. Always feel a little grimy. Can’t trust the gps cuz it thinks we’re all driving day cabs with 28 footers. If I can’t find a local job at my 6 month mark, I’m going back to warehouse work. I got a year of yard hostling experience already. I don’t need a full year of experience. My backing is as good as it gets.
