My dad worked for Overnight trucking,Freight Incorporated,AndAce Freight INC.out of Chicago,and Hammond Indiana,in the 40s50sand 1960,when he passed on from stomach cancer,at 43 years old!

The sleeper in that Corbitt is in front of the driver's feet too. Doesn't look like a comfortable ride!

@@captainmorgan1107 Well the drivers seat would compare nicely with the "nosebleed seats" at a stadium. Plus could you imagine running team and the guy driving falls asleep while your in the bunk? IE; can you say rear end collision boys and girls? That would like dying in a giant trash compactor.

Happy Fathers Day to all of us who play Daddy to the little boy in us who loves trucks. I joke that I wore out the knees of my pants playing with trucks when I was a boy, then I wore out the seat of my pants driving trucks when I became a man. I may have gotten older, but I refused to grow up; I was getting paid (not enough) to play!

we did and in winter the steering rack would freeze, would not return to center. an adventure!

l owned a 71' Freightliner first and then a 73' KW and both were equipped with "steering by armstrong". lf you were moving slowly it wasn't TOO bad, lol. No PS or A/C in ether, LA to Phoenix in summer....OH WHAT FUN THAT WAS! This is why l say "l've had two trucks and two wives, and l will get married again, but never another truck, a divorce is SOOO much cheaper." LOL!

@dabigkahunacatfish2992 my dad started driving a Emeryville it was blue and white about a 68 or 9. I would ride on the dog house at times.
