Trudeau resignation and what it means for Arizona’s economy

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has announced he is resigning. The embattled leader will step aside once his party, the Liberal Party, elects a new leader.
Trudeau has faced calls for his resignation with many in his own party believing he could not beat conservative opponent Pierre Poilievre. Trudeau has been Prime Minster for nine years. Parliament is suspended until March 24, 2025, while a new party leader is being elected.
Canada and Arizona share a robust trade partnership, with it reaching nearly $5.3 billion dollars in 2023.
