I only learned recently that they had regular discharge, i always thought it was honorable or dishonorable only 😶 apparently it is also very limiting in terms of getting a job later in life. No one is meant to go thru the kind of ptsd that comes with war tbh. Either you're scarred for life or you turn the empathy part of your brain off and things like this happen

@@littlewillowlinda not really. You can get a dishonorable discharge for something as simple as talking back to your CO. One of my battle buddies was dishonorably discharged for being gay. They tried to give me one for testifying against the officer that sexually assaulted me and several other girls. He was a chaplain of all things. Luckily the battalion commander wasn't having it and I was given an honorable discharge. At least one of the other girls wasn't as lucky and she was given a dishonorable. She went on to pass the bar and is an attorney now, so I don't think a dishonorable discharge really holds weight anymore. No one really looks at your military record unless you tell them you are a veteran. My father was given a dishonorable and went to the brig for a few years for a serious crime and it didn't hurt him. He had no trouble getting a high paying job with a pharmaceutical company.
