@@fatthumbs2020 Hah I dont really know what the budget was - that was one of my first full-time VFX jobs in LA when I was working hourly as an independent contractor for a post house. I know this “show” was also recut and episodes were packaged together as “movies” in some countries which may have made it relatively expensive for a “show” but cheap for a “movie”.

@@ohio I didn’t touch budgeting at all, but shockingly there wasn’t a single vfx shot on that show to make him look slimmer. I have had to do that on other movies though. I seem to remember on some Seagal movie that they actually squeezed the frame of every shot he was in (or vertically stretched it) to make him appear slightly thinner.

The contrast between Seagal living out his fantasy in a fantasy world (True Justice) where he is the badass invincible martial artist and Seagal living out his fantasy in the real world (Lawman) where he ends up as passenger in a patrol car shouting like a scaredy grandma being told off by the police driver makes both even funnier to me. 🤣

At 4:27 in your video, there's stock footage of the south end downtown Seattle. It doesn't take a lot of knowledge of the Seattle skyline to know it looks a little barren. The really obvious parts is that the Columbia Center is standing on it's own without the Municipal Tower (formerly KeyBank Tower) next to it. The Municipal Tower was finished in 1990, and The Columbia Center was finished in 1985 so this is footage from the mid to late 1980s. It's just too much work to check the dates on the stock footage to make sure it's not over twenty years old. Still not quite sure why the crime lord was engaging in low level carjacking. It's like a 1980's plot where the drug lord wants to sell drugs to elementary school kids. The bad guy should have better things to do, but this is more evil.

Speaking in a very general sense, state laws in the U.S. typically have provisions for using force to protect others, even without law enforcement powers. If the threat is immediate, one can act in the defense of another, and someone who happens to be a cop can act immediately under their rights as a citizen (being a cop is just a bonus in this kind of situation).

With as many firearms as he's been around over the decades you'd think he'd have great gun control even if he wasn't a great marksman but he so often looks like he finds it kind of awkward holding and firing a gun. I don't know if he's perhaps finding the gun the wrong size or weight for his hands but it's sometimes really noticeable.

What stood out to me was the really bad writing. Okay....all Seagal movies have bad writing. But, that one scene where Officer Graves hands Officer Seagal a folder and tells him its "nothing earth shattering." Then, later on, Seagal tells the lady cop he has new intel that's "nothing earth shattering"; Jeez. Didn't anyone catch that? Holy cow. Nah, even if Seagal didn’t identify himself as a cop immediately he was still justified in intervening. But the guy can argue in court that he didn’t know he was assaulting a police officer…which holds a slightly stiffer penalty than for assaulting a regular Joe. And yes, that is an AK-47!
