Excellent tip, thank you. 👌🤤 For all the haters; Vegan /Plant-based? Try vegan butter... Too much butter? Use less, or none. (You can toast oats sans butter) Too long to wait? Skip this part. It's still good. 4:42 Portions too small? Try double measures...you do the math.🙄 I think this recipe assumes you have some common sense.

Overkill ... if you start with COLD water/almond milk in old fashioned oats and cook it all slowly to a boil, cook for 1-2 minutes after it boils. The oats get creamy naturally without adding in gobs of calorie laden butter and milk. I agree it is about technique, but but using milk and butter to make them creamy is cheating. Oh, and if you like the toasted oat flavor, then toast the oats in a dry pan (sans butter) then throw COLD liquid over them. Again, they'll get creamy naturally but with the nutty taste.

I refuse to apologize for NOT being OCD but I will ask forgiveness for being lazy. The raisin, date, and maple variety are my absolute favorite so, after following package directions, all I need to add are a pat of butter, a tablespoon of brown sugar, and (hold on to your hats) instead of milk, a large scoop of Maple Nut ice cream. Let it melt and you'll have breakfast in the Hall of the Viking Heroes! (No, you're still alive but it just makes you feel heroic.)

Oooh... I am so gonna try this!! Right now I mix instant oats with rolled oats (and a tablespoon of broken flaxseed) and milk, microwave it for 2.5 minute. This makes the instant oats creamy but it leaves some bite from the rolled oats. then, to instantly make it a good eating temperature, I throw in frozen raspberries and blueberries. But, while it's healthy, warm and convenient, the flavor leaves something to be desired. Time to start buttering up those oats! :)

In India they make a savory oatmeal that consists of a porridge like base with a cup of plain yogurt. This is tempered with mustard seeds, curry leaves, Asafoetida powder all in a little gingelly oil. Finally a little lemon juice and a dash of salt. You can add a spicy hot Indian pickle or some savory Indian snacks for a crunch to top it off. A very health option!

But I tried this recipe for an overnight breakfast during lockdown while I don't have to rush out of the door in the morning, and I have have to say it is pretty good. No joke about those irresistible toasted oats coated in butter. I used alternative milk and my topping with the crunchy toasted oats was peanut butter and raisins one serving; and yogurt and kiwi on another serving. So much better than over night cold soppy oatmeal. And I found it more filling. Not saying that I will do it regularly, but definitely an occassoinal treat.

I toasted a cup of rolled oats in 2.5 tbs butter and added a 1/8 cup to the top of each of my mason jar overnight oats. in the jar I put 1 tsp cinnamon, a drop of vanilla bean paste, 1/2 cup of oats and 1 cup of milk (mine had coconut almond milk) and pinch of salt for my HB. I added a tsp of chia seed and Flax seed to mine. It sits in the fridge overnight and at 4-6am when I get up to put my dogs out I pop it in the pressure cooker on low pressure for 2 minutes & go back to bed. When we get up it's hot and ready to top as desired & eat.

Cute! Will try your style Nicole. Seems delicious. Thank you. Looks Good for Breakfast. I hope it won't raise my blood sugar level. I usually cook mine like a lunch meal. Cook it with chicken broth ( Chicken stock) instead of milk (Not too thick & more like clam chowder), ginger powder, turmeric powder, lemon juice, pepper & salt to taste. And top it up with finely chopped onion leaves, fried toasted garlic & shredded boiled chicken. This style of mine lowers my blood sugar level 20 points. Try it! It's delicious. Hope you like it too. :)

I had to watch this video twice. The host is so good looking I did not hear anything she said on the first view. You melt my heart with your laugh and now my oatmeal will be so much better.

I substituted for Coconut oil & Unsweetened Almondmilk. it was delicious! I love the texture, its the perfect comfort breakfast food. I added a pinch of brown sugar and maple syrup to mine as well.

I love unsweetened almond milk. I throw in date sugar and cinnamon. Today I stirred in an egg. Oh boy was my oatmeal good. And a little butter.
