This story is so heart breaking. Chris did two tours in the Navy and he dies at home because some meth-fueled pos lost his mind and picked their home to break into. He not only stole Chris' life he stole his wife and daughter's happiness, peace of mind and sense of security. Disgusting and tragic.

Easy to say now could of, should of….I think what’s important is that he was able to get his wife and child out of the situation and keep them out of it and he even tried to de escalate it, sure if he had had a gun he could have lived, but it could have also caused a shootout that got his wife and child to get in harms way. He did the best he could in a terrible situation and is without a doubt a hero for saving his family….

I was very intrigued to click on this video because I’m from Kalamazoo. I immediately knew which case it was though. My mother used to date Haley’s father so I knew the family. I’ve been in the house this happened in, years before it happened. It was a very cute house right on the Kalamazoo River. When my family heard on the news and on Facebook about what happened it was shocking. No one could have expected it at all. Hearing the 911 calls makes it feel so much more real. Thankfully Haley has been able to heal more and has a very supportive partner now. She has two beautiful kids and has started going to college again. She still posts about Christopher often and says he is “my guardian angel” :) Hopefully that gives some people comfort after hearing their story.

@@beautifulsurprise9424 I understand that my comment came off a bit too harsh. Honestly though, it's quite realistic, because it just keeps getting worse with how people describe their sadness. It goes from sadness to being offended to being angry and then back to being sad again and then angrier and then super offended and who knows what comes next? I'm not a comedian at all and I would never even attempt to be one. My comment wasn't even supposed to be comical but I do understand where you would get that feeling from because that's how most people are online now they're very senseless, and actually quite sadistic when it comes to their emotions. I try to be a little bit shocking to get people's attention, because it seems like that's the only way anymore, but I definitely didn't mean to aggravate you. It seems like I'm not getting through to anyone, so I may just call it quits and focus on myself and my daughter. I feel the pain of everyone and that pain alot of times comes out like a roaring lion. I can promise you though that I'm not a dangerous person and I do not have a criminal background that comes even close to that so I apologize for giving you the wrong idea about who I am. There are so many deaths that are by men getting out with a full and violent rap sheet and killing people. If they thought they could be sued then they may think twice. There has to be some kind of threshold where they default to life in prison to protect the public.

Hearing their poor daughter say ‘I want daddy’ during the 911 call was almost too much to bear.. this story was truly heartbreaking. I can’t imagine how hard this must be on the family, but I hope somehow, someday they are able to live fulfilling & happy lives. I've heard and watched almost everything there is to see on this case. This is the best presented I've seen so far. Well done and thank you. This case just eats me up even more that it already did before. Seeing how happy Christopher ad Haley were with their little growing family. It makes me absolutely sick that Christopher was taken in such a random, not doing anything wrong, horrific kind of way. May he rest in absolute peace and may Haley find the strength to go on without Chris. I pray for her and her beautiful babies.

I have probably watched thousands of true crime docs/programmes, but this one left a mark. The heroism of Chris, protecting his family and being killed in such a senseless act of one absolute POS, just broke my heart. Then hearing about their little girl saying what she did...there are no words. At least life means life in the US, and not 20 years knocked down to 10 for 'good behaviour' whilst living better than most elderly people in this country. The UK could learn some lessons from the US penal system.

@heatherydew3361
@heatherydew3361 Жыл бұрын
@@sophiejameson4064 is that down to the US being much bigger so more people therefore more homicides, or is that based on the percentages? I'm sure the gun laws have a part to play too, but let's not get into that! I think for the families though, when someone kills your loved one because they were drink driving and only get 5 years in the UK, a life sentence in the US must make them feel like justice was done. (Not sure if that's the best comparison, but you get what I'm saying). It just feels like the world is getting more violent though, and I'm not sure what the solution is!😔

The revolving door system of justice in this country is appalling. How many crimes does a person have to commit before it's determined they can never be rehabilitated and there are no second chances? Why is it that innocent people have to be killed in order for justice to be served accordingly, and even then, it's never enough?

We think he was only looking for money because he left after encountering me in my room without any confrontation. You better believe I have never left a door unlocked again.
