@@LifeisaHorrorMovie I very much hope that you will be able to leave behind the horrors of your childhood, and thrive as an adult without the painful influence of a malevolent addict. What you went through - and are still going through, by the looks of it - is horrific, so I can see why you would think life is a horror show. If you are able to notice anything good in your life now, and acknowledge that it is good (beautiful, comforting, amazing, delightful, sweet, fun… anything like that), you may be able to turn your back and walk away from the horror show you’re still living with now. It takes practice. Regular practice of seeing something good and acknowledging that good thing in your life. Old wisdom calls it “Count Your Blessings”. New wisdom calls it “Cognitive Behavioral Therapy” which is considered the most effective of all the talk therapies. CBT teaches you how to shift your thinking. If you’re in a horror show, STOP-THINK-CHANGE your thoughts and feelings to something good. Anything. A favorite blanket or pair of shoes. A pet. Having a car, a house, a phone, food, clothes. A singing bird outside. A good neighbor. There are literally endless things to be thankful for, but only if you practice enough to make thinking good thoughts a habit. If resentment shows up, change your thinking to anything good. Maybe you have strength of character because you came out of a horrific childhood without becoming an abuser yourself. Celebrate that! Congratulate yourself for turning bad into good. That is the essence of living a good life, even if you are constrained in some ways. Your thoughts are yours to control. Find things that you are proud of. Your intelligence, your beauty whether external or internal, your kindness, loyalty… anything and everything good that you can think of. And after awhile, you will find that your life is better, because you truthfully think and feel that it is better. And build on that. The Greater Good Science Center, out of UC Berkeley, studies this exact thing. The benefits of gratitude are scientifically proven to help people cope and thrive. Find the website and sign up for the newsletter, or download some their many good resources. I found them at a really dark time that went on for years and I felt like I was drowning. I have gained so much - at no cost - and continue to find value in their studies and applications. Remember that your soul is a spark of the Great Spirit (or whatever you do or don’t call it) which breathes life into this literally marvelous, magnificent Universe. Very best wishes to you.

😢😭😢😭My God what a horrific crime - I hope Jennifer is resting in peace, and that her daughter and grandchildren are somehow able to cope after living through such life altering events... The comment the cop made about them being "a much stronger force now than five years ago" is mindboggling - how is that meant to help in anyway? Five years ago, this family desperately needed your help and every time a frightening call came in begging for help, they were let down EVERY SINGLE TIME !!! ABSOLUTELY APPALLING!! This man should have been lock up for the safety of everyone...

Wow and Wow. So what did he have to do to be taken seriously? All officers who ignored should have to face the family, explain, apologise and provide compensation. If I was one of those officers I would have to resign - my conscious would have no peace! Thoughts and prayers to all the family and those affected

I had a very similar experience with my ex. Drugs and feeling very much like the victim when I tried to move on. Thankfully I had a great police force and Woman’s Aid made sure they kept pushing. They installed locks and markers on the house, but my ex even accused the police force of sleeping with me so a whole corruption investigation had to take place, I wasn’t of course. He vandalised my car, left dead birds on the doorstep, sent threatening messages, and spouted derogatory posts on social media. It was awful. Time in prison sorted him out plus a non harressment order. I cried at what this family went through, absolutely horrific.

I am so utterly disgusted and heartbroken by the way this case was handled that I need a bit of time to properly digest the utter injustice of it before I can comment further.my heart breaks for those left behind and what they witnessed after repeatedly asking for help.

I can’t even watch this clusterfk anymore. How many 999 calls does it take for someone in critical danger to get life saving help??? Bloody hell, it’s time for vigilantes. This did not need to happen to this poor family.

It's always like this. To imprison these type of people, they always need something big to happen, an innocent life to be taken away despite all the red flags he'd been showing. I'm so done... idk how lawyers could even work on their cases to WIN the cases for these criminals.

What the actual hell were the police doing? I knew before it was said that none of them would be punished either, just some re-training and box ticking and it's all over and done with for them. Must be nice to forget so easily. Glad she sued them, but bet that didn't go anywhere either. Absolutely disgusting.

I have watched many if not all of your videos I also watch other true crime videos, but this one was probably the most distressing I’ve heard yet. You covered it in a very compassionate way, it’s a tragic and heartbreaking story made even worse by the incompetence of the police and other agencies, thanks for sharing it with us and thanks for providing support links as this is certainly a very distressing case.

I was stranger stalked in the 80s, when a lot less was recognized about stalking. By the 2000s, there was a lot more known about stalkers and domestic violence. That the police kept downgrading the case and not collating the reports is shocking and lethal. It's so sad to hear these sorts of cases repeated, again and again, while the police ignore and allow this to happen.

Because the majority of women stay and waste police time, they get the person in court, and even then, the women still go back, and not only do they go back but protect their abusers. Police hate that.
@gardenofsn595511 ай бұрын
If you look up the statistics, I believe a significant percentage of DV perpetrators are current or former police officers - and that's just what's reported. You'll find cases where someone was trying to get away from their abusive cop boyfriend, but the rest of the squad has that cop's back and just wants to enable them - and that's just the cases that are found out about. The process to become a cop and the system at large is catered to the violent and the power-hungry. This is why some people say ACAB (All Cops Are Bastards) - because by becoming a cop, one is inherently enabling the system that encourages violence against innocents.

Ya, didn't have enough " manpower" to send over an officer. If Susan was a judge, police Chief or another high profile authority in government, there'd be a cop on every floor of the house, Mom's house and 24 hr protection for the two girls. What an embarrassing look for that Police Department.

One boyfriend I had eventually started to get abusive, and in of those moments of him being verbally abusive he actually blamed my mother and I was so shocked because she was never present and always accepting and welcoming of him. It scared me because there was literally no reason for him to feel or say these things about my mum.

Stalking is one of THE MOST dangerous crimes! They stew alone, obsess, get angrier, and more delusional! They often feel like they have nothing to lose, so they will go to extremes! Police never seem to take it seriously enough! Even after all of the cases that end in murder!

I totally agree. They are too busy taking the knee or arresting people silently praying or they are doing the macerena at gay pride, there is no time to deal with real thugs and psychopaths i.e deal with actual criminals. Like everything in this hell hole of a country, the police force is no longer fit for for purpose and as always the people to blame are at the top.

Wow. Those calls were harrowing! As an Italian living in the U.K. I have observed people be way too polite to each other, when in fact, the situation is serious. The police here were a shit show and the calls were handled like a mere sales transaction. No way would the police be telling me that they didn’t have enough officers to go to my mother’a house when my child was also present, when a deranged man was threatening to kill them. Just wow.

I know I’ll be taking my SA to the grave, rather than report it. I have absolutely no faith in the police. They don’t take victims seriously and nothing will ever change. I might aswell just keep my mouth shut and bury it deep down. When he found my facebook and tried to contact me I moved cities, completely changed my image just in case there’s chance I’ll ever bump into them. It may not be much but I pray for any survivors out there of stalking or abuse, keep your head up, you’re still here and you’re not alone. ❤

I'm not surprised by the polices attitude. A friend of mine (still in the UK) was being stalked and harassed by her neighbour, and he repeatedly tried to smash her door in. The police basically told her that she was just being hysterical by calling them so many times about it.
